POSITION SUMMARY
The Centralized Leasing Consultant is a remote, production-focused role responsible for managing high-volume prospect, applicant, and resident communications across the affordable housing portfolio. This position serves as the primary point of contact for prospective residents during the initial inquiry, application, and recertification phases, ensuring all leasing and recertification activity complies with LIHTC, HUD/Section 8, and fair housing regulations. The Centralized Leasing Consultant works in partnership with onsite teams to deliver a seamless leasing experience while maintaining speed, accuracy, and compliance in all documentation and processing activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leasing
  • Respond to and follow up with prospects, applicants, and residents via phone, email, text message, chat, and other communication channels.
  • Prequalify prospects by gathering move-in timeline, unit size preferences, and program eligibility information, providing accurate information regarding availability, pricing, program requirements, qualification standards, and application procedures.
  • Schedule tours and coordinate with onsite teams for property showings.
  • Execute structured workflows to convert prospects to applicants, maintaining consistent touchpoints via phone, email, and text.
  • Maintain accurate records, notes, communication logs, and status updates within company systems.
Application amp; Certification Processing
  • Assist applicants and residents with completing applications and understanding required documentation. Collect, review, and organize documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Process high volumes of applications and recertifications with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Verify income, assets, employment, and rental history in accordance with program requirements and company guidelines.
  • Complete application corrections and follow up on missing or incomplete documentation.
  • Complete and submit Request for Tenancy Approval (RTA) packets using state-specific guides when applicable.
  • Follow up on HAP approval status with housing authorities.
Lease Preparation amp; Move-In Coordination
  • Confirm lease dates and coordinate move-in scheduling with applicants and onsite teams.
  • Confirm utility transfer and document verification.
  • Prepare lease documents and ensure accuracy of all terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate collection of deposits and move-in funds with onsite team.
QUALIFICATIONS amp; REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in property management, leasing, or a customer service-focused call center environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with LIHTC and/or HUD/Section 8 requirements strongly preferred; willingness to be trained required.
  • Experience with RealPage/OneSite, Yardi, Fortress, CRM platforms, or similar property management software preferred.
  • Fair Housing certification required within 7 days of employment.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and dedicated home office workspace required.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote work environment.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
  • Strong computer and data entry skills.

  • Centralized Operations Department hours: Monday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Extended computer use throughout the workday.
  • Regular use of phone, video conferencing, and office equipment.
  • Minimal travel required, up to 20%, for training or team meetings.
