Our diverse community of colleagues are all unified by a shared desire to make a difference in education.

Turnitin is a global organization with team members in over 35 countries including the United States, Mexico, United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, India, and the Philippines.

Job Description

The Team:

The Product Marketing team at Turnitin is curious, customer-centric, data-driven, and collaborative. We're responsible for the global go-to-market strategy for Turnitin's portfolio of academic integrity and assessment solutions. The team collaborates cross-functionally with product management, corporate marketing, demand marketing, and global sales to develop positioning and messaging, content assets, campaigns, and sales tools in support of product revenue and customer engagement goals. The team is also responsible for competitive analysis and positioning.

The Role:ย

We are seeking an experienced Product Marketing Manager to lead how we communicate our approach to data privacy, security, AI and data use, and accessibility to customers and the broader market.

This role sits at the intersection of Product, Security, Privacy/Legal, AI, Accessibility, Sales, and Marketing. You will translate complex technical and policy topics into clear, credible, customer-friendly messaging that builds trust and helps customers understand how we protect their data, use AI responsibly, and design accessible products.

The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience in product marketing, product management, technology marketing, or a related field, preferably within B2B SaaS, education technology, enterprise software, or another highly regulated or trust-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities:ย

  • Develop and maintain clear market-facing positioning and messaging for data privacy, security, AI data use, responsible AI practices, and accessibility across our product portfolio.
  • Communicate How We Use Customer Data: Clearly articulate how customer and user data is collected, processed, stored, protected, retained, and used within our products, partnering closely with Privacy, Legal, Security, and Product teams to ensure accuracy.
  • Lead AI Transparency Communications: Own customer-facing communications explaining where and how AI is used across our products, what data AI features access, how that data is handled, and whether and under what circumstances customer data is used to train or improve AI models.
  • Maintain External Trust & Transparency Resources: Own and continuously improve external-facing web content and resources that provide customers with easy-to-understand information about our security, privacy, AI, data-use, and accessibility practices.
  • Translate Technical Concepts for Customers: Turn complex security architectures, privacy practices, AI technologies, accessibility standards, and regulatory requirements into language that customers, educators, administrators, procurement teams, and business leaders can readily understand.
  • Enable Sales and Customer-Facing Teams: Develop training, playbooks, FAQs, objection-handling guidance, presentations, and talk tracks that help Sales, Customer Success, and other customer-facing teams confidently discuss security, privacy, AI data use, and accessibility.
  • Support Customer and Procurement Conversations: Partner with Sales, Security, Privacy, Legal, and Product teams to address common customer questions and concerns arising during evaluations, procurement processes, security reviews, and renewals.
  • Create a Consistent Source of Truth: Establish and maintain approved messaging so that Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Privacy, and Security communicate consistently about these topics.
  • Partner on Product Launches: Ensure new products and features-particularly those involving AI or new uses of customer data-have appropriate trust, privacy, security, and accessibility messaging as part of launch readiness.
  • Drive Proactive Customer Communication: Identify emerging topics that may create customer questions or concerns and develop proactive communications before they become barriers to adoption or renewal.
  • Monitor the Market and Regulatory Landscape: Stay informed about evolving expectations and regulations related to AI, privacy, security, and accessibility and help translate those developments into implications for product positioning and customer communication.
  • Represent the Voice of the Customer: Bring recurring customer questions and concerns back to Product, Security, Privacy, Legal, and Accessibility teams to influence product decisions, policies, documentation, and roadmap priorities.

What success looks like:

Customers can quickly understand how we protect their data, how AI is used in our products, whether their data is used to train AI models, and how we approach accessibility. Sales and Customer Success teams can confidently answer these questions without unnecessarily escalating routine inquiries, and our external communications consistently reinforce trust in our products and company.

Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of experience in product marketing, product management, technology marketing, or a related B2B SaaS role.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate highly technical or regulated topics into clear, compelling customer-facing communications.
  • Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Security, Legal/Privacy, Sales, and Customer Success organizations.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS data privacy and security concepts; familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI, and accessibility is highly desirable.
  • Experience developing sales enablement programs, messaging frameworks, FAQs, competitive materials, or customer-facing product documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable navigating topics where technical capabilities, regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and market positioning intersect.
  • Ability to build credibility with technical and legal subject-matter experts while maintaining a strong customer and commercial perspective.
  • Must be able to regularly flex schedule across global time zones to further One Team collaboration and execute within a global function.
