Job description

At Cotality, we are driven by a single mission-to make the property industry faster, smarter, and more people-centric. Cotality is the trusted source for property intelligence, with unmatched precision, depth, breadth, and insights across the entire ecosystem. Our talented team of 5,000 employees globally uses our network, scale, connectivity and technology to drive the largest asset class in the world. Join us as we work toward our vision of fueling a thriving global property ecosystem and a more resilient society.

Cotality is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive work culture that inspires innovation and bold thinking; it's a place where you can collaborate, feel valued, develop skills and directly impact the real estate economy. We know our people are our greatest asset. At Cotality, you can be yourself, lift people up and make an impact. By putting clients first and continuously innovating, we're working together to set the pace for unlocking new possibilities that better serve the property industry.

Job Description:

More About Cotality

We are not just a real estate tech company; we are an AI-Native enterprise. We use our scale and connectivity to unlock new possibilities for the property industry.

Cotality XD: Revolutionizing the Practice

The Experience Design (XD) team at Cotality is responsible for every part of how a user interacts with our services. We don't just "make things pretty." We use a User-Centered Design and Development (UCD+D) strategy to solve the right challenges for our users. We call this Building the Right Thing.

In our world, Engineering and XD are deeply integrated. We are moving beyond traditional workflows to an AI-Native model. This means we build experiences for both human users and non-human users (AI agents). We value honesty, humility, and empathy. We like to laugh, but we always get the work done.

The Role: Principal Creative Technologist

As the Principal DesignTechnologist, you will lead the evolution of our design system into a dynamic, generative framework. You will not just design static screens; you will design the logic that allows interfaces to adapt to non-deterministic AI outputs. You will sit at the heart of our AI-Native design system engineering team, bridging the gap between high-fidelity "pixel-perfect" craft and "logic-perfect" system design.

You are an agent of change who understands that in an AI-driven world, micro-interactions and typography prevent a product from feeling robotic or "uncanny". You will work closely with our engineering and product leaders to ensure our AI agents and software provide a seamless, human-centric experience. Your mission is to move Cotality beyond traditional design thinking into a world of agentic workflows and multimodal feedback loops.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead Strategic AI Projects: Manage the direction of user experience on individual strategic projects, working with stakeholders to take a project from completion.

  • Architect Agentic Workflows: Facilitate user research and testing using AI and Agentic Models to analyze and report findings.

  • Design for Adaptability: Consider users who are AI Agents, Software, and Robots, creating solutions for dynamic state changes.

  • Collaborate with Engineering: Work with highly technical teams in agile environments to ensure design tokens align with model outputs.

  • Evolve the Design System: Develop and manage a repository of UX assets and standards that support both human-authored and AI-generated components.

  • Mentor and Coach: Provide guidance and support to other designers to ensure they are well-versed in industry nuances and AI competencies.

  • Advocate for the User: Write whitepapers and documentation to champion the user experience within the AI landscape.

  • Support Handoffs: Deliver accurate design specifications, epics, and user stories required to implement complex AI designs.

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in UI design, interaction design, or systems design, with a focus on large enterprise B2B or B2C solutions.

  • AI Mastery: Proven experience using Agentic AI to create research artifacts, curate data, and create synthesis.

  • Tooling Expertise: Mastery of Figma and a natural curiosity for new, innovative tools that streamline the design-to-code process.

  • Technical Acumen: A solid understanding of how HTML, JavaScript, and CSS inform interaction decisions.

  • Design Excellence: Mastery of the principles of interface design, accessibility guidelines (WCAG), and inclusive design practices.

  • Communication: Strong ability to articulate design vision and defend decisions to business and technology leaders.

  • Education: A degree in design, HCI, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Portfolio: A professional portfolio showing examples of leveraging AI to reduce redundant tasks and solving complex user problems.
