Job description

COMMERCIAL TITLE EXAMINER (REMOTE)
August 2026
Location: This is a 100% remote position.
Benefits: Eligible
Salary Range: $65,000 to $80,000 per year.
Senior Tier: Compensation may reach up to $90,000 for candidates with exceptional commercial expertise.
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Commercial Title Examiner for a specialized role that focuses on commitment production and data integration. This position is not a traditional fullsearch role. The examiner will take preliminary drafts of commitments and compare them against existing files to merge them into a finalized product. Candidates must be able to perform targeted searches to verify information without needing to pull a full search every time, and must be comfortable working from proformas and preliminary searches to produce accurate, insurable commitments. Unlike conventional commercial examiner roles, this position is heavily reviewfocused and requires the ability to interpret complex commercial chains, surveys, multiparcel files, and buildinglevel details rather than performing basic pullandclear work. The role also requires true commercial experience with Texas commercial files, including land and plot, multiunit, and developmentlevel complexity.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review preliminary drafts of commitments and compare them against company priors and existing files.
  • Merge information from preliminary searches and proformas into a final, standardized commitment document.
  • Perform targeted searches to verify data without the necessity of conducting a ground-up full search for every file.
  • Ensure all commitment drafting adheres to the specific regulatory and procedural requirements of the Texas title market.
  • Manage a steady, high-volume workflow of commercial drafting tasks within a remote team structure.

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of four to five years of dedicated experience in commercial title examination is required.
  • Candidates must have a strictly commercial background and will not be considered if their current experience is limited to residential title.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Texas title market is mandatory for this position.
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and creating commercial proformas is an essential requirement.
  • Practical experience with commercial abstracting is required to verify the accuracy of preliminary data.
  • Strong technical skills in document drafting and data merging are necessary for success in this remote environment.
Preferred Skills
  • While not a strict requirement, the ability to read or create a commercial proforma is considered a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency with commercial escrow software and experience working in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.

How to Apply
Applicants who require strict confidentiality regarding their current employment may email their resume directly to Tony@americanhhllc.com. Qualified candidates will receive a follow-up call the same day or the following business day.
