Job description

Purple Land Management (PLM) is seeking experienced Lease Buyer Landmen for active projects in the Barnett Shale / DFW Metroplex area. Applicants must reside in or near the DFW, TX area. The individual will be responsible for conducting contact efforts and lease negotiations with landowners in order to acquire leases and prepare for possible energy development in the area where the property is located.ย 
Responsibilities
  • Work independently to establish contact with multiple landowners across multiple counties/states.
  • Establish a positive rapport with multiple landowners to facilitate a positive working relationship.
  • Travel and meet with landowners as needed to successfully negotiate and secure lease agreements, including but not limited to, the landowner's property.
  • Negotiate surface/sub-surface leases on behalf of clients.
  • ย Educate landowners on the scope of the project including, but not limited to, lease terms and conditions, timing, procedures, and financial arrangements.
  • Provide daily updates to an internal database for review by Project Managers and clients.
  • Provide progress reports to Project Managers and/or clients on the status of their negotiations and contact efforts with landowners.
  • Prepare Lease Purchase Reports containing the executed lease agreement and other necessary documents related to the transaction.
  • Conduct supplemental/limited title research in the subject courthouses to confirm the surface/sub-surface interests of the landowners.ย 
Required Qualifications
  • Applicants local to the project area will be strongly preferred (DFW, TX area).
  • Minimum of three years of experience in negotiating leases, outside sales, or property sale agreements.
  • Previous oil and gas, energy, or renewable energy negotiation experience preferred.
  • Active AAPL membership required.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, specifically Google Docs, Sheets, and Drive.
  • Intermediate familiarity with basic computer applications, including Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Significant travel may be required.
