Job description

The Healthcare Intake Processor is responsible for receiving, interpreting, and processing inbound documentation and data from multiple sources/programs (payors, vendors, clients, patients). This role ensures accurate data entry, proper document handling, and timely routing of information into patient and program files. This role requires independent decision-making and the ability to support intake operations. 

Core Duties/Responsibilities:  

  • Receive and process inbound documentation via fax, electronic upload, or other methods.
  • Accurately enter data into proprietary systems and patient files.
  • Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with program requirements.
  • Route documents to the appropriate department, program, or team member.
  • Maintain KPI expectations for timeliness, accuracy, and quality assurance.
  • Monitor and respond to incoming requests and inquiries through multiple systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve document discrepancies or incomplete submissions.
  • Abide by HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality of PHI.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in toggling between systems and databases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-volume or fast-paced environments.
  • High level of accountability for adherence to policies and procedures.

 

Education, Certifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma required; Associate degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare administration, document management, or data entry preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • As a remote-forward organization, this position operates in a virtual professional office environment and teleworking from the employee's home address listed in their employment file.
