Clinical Pharmacist Advisor – Medicare Part D Appeals

Fully Remote

Position Overview

A-Line Staffing Solutions is seeking Licensed Registered Pharmacists for a fully remote Clinical Pharmacist Advisor – Medicare position supporting Medicare Part D members and providers.

This role is focused on Medicare appeals case setup, clinical review, documentation, provider outreach, and accurate decision-making in accordance with Medicare/CMS guidelines.

This is a productivity- and quality-driven remote position with a strong emphasis on accuracy, attendance, clinical judgment, and meeting regulatory timelines.

  • No onsite requirement
  • Candidate must have a dedicated, quiet workspace
  • Candidate must have wired internet meeting:

Required License

  • Must be a Licensed Registered Pharmacist

Schedule

Training:

  • 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM EST
  • Training attendance is extremely important during the initial 8–10 weeks
  • Candidates must be available for the first 8 weeks of training
  • No planned vacation/time off during the initial training period

Post-Training:

  • 8-hour shifts assigned based on business needs
  • Business hours:
  • Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST
  • Saturday–Sunday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST
  • Set schedule/rotation
  • Schedule will include either one weekend day or a weekend rotation

Interview Process

  • Virtual interviews with supervisors via Microsoft Teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate setup and processing of Medicare Part D appeals cases
  • Review internal notes, fax requests, and clinical documentation for pertinent information
  • Perform clinical review and make accurate decisions regarding pharmacy benefit requests
  • Apply clinical judgment and pharmacy knowledge when evaluating cases
  • Review requests in accordance with:
  • Medicare Part D requirements
  • CMS guidance
  • Applicable drug compendia
  • Departmental work instructions
  • Contact providers when additional clinical information is needed
  • Document all case activity clearly, concisely, and accurately
  • Meet CMS-mandated case processing timelines
  • Maintain departmental productivity and quality standards
  • Navigate multiple computer applications while utilizing two monitors
  • Perform high-volume data entry and documentation
  • Participate in coaching, development discussions, and feedback sessions with the direct supervisor
  • Maintain a positive, engaged, and collaborative approach while working independently

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in a Managed Care or PBM environment preferred
  • Medicare Part D experience is highly desirable
  • Medicare appeals experience is a plus
  • Prior authorization/utilization management experience is beneficial
  • Strong clinical documentation skills
  • Strong data entry experience
  • Comfortable working in a productivity-driven environment
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer applications simultaneously
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Word

  • Microsoft Access — preferred
  • Microsoft Visio — preferred
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Previous Managed Care/PBM experience is preferred but not required.

  • Are you available to work an assigned 8-hour shift between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM EST, including one weekend day or weekend rotation after training?
  • Do you have a dedicated, quiet, separate workspace for working from home?
  • Do you have wired internet with at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload?

  • Are you able to sit and remain focused on work for the duration of your shift without interruptions?
  • Do you have experience with data entry and navigating multiple computer applications, including working with two screens?
  • Do you hold an active Pharmacist license in good standing in your state of residence?
  • Are you comfortable working independently in a data-entry and productivity-driven environment?
  • Are you comfortable participating in camera-on training, supervisor meetings, and team meetings?
