Job description

Lab Infrastructure Technical Manager / Architect
The Select Group is seeking a technical leader to help drive the evolution of large-scale lab environments supporting next-generation platform validation, testing, and deployment activities.
This opportunity is well-suited for professionals who bring a blend of infrastructure architecture expertise, cloud-native platform knowledge, and team leadership experience. The environment is undergoing significant modernization efforts, offering the chance to influence long-term strategy while supporting critical operational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership across cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, and telecom lab environments.
  • Lead and mentor a distributed team of infrastructure engineers, establishing operational standards and technical best practices.
  • Own and maintain platform architecture across Kubernetes, OpenStack, Oracle infrastructure, Red Hat environments, and telecom platforms.
  • Drive infrastructure modernization and migration initiatives, including data center and platform transformation efforts.
  • Support lab expansion through capacity planning, utilization management, and hardware lifecycle planning.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers to ensure lab environments meet evolving business and technical requirements.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure, networking, platform, and application issues.
  • Deliver visibility into infrastructure capacity, operational risks, and roadmap readiness.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience supporting cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, and/or telecom lab environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, cluster deployment models, and platform operations.
  • Experience with Red Hat technologies including RHEL, OpenShift, and OpenStack.
  • Proven experience architecting and supporting cloud-native infrastructure environments.
  • Strong networking fundamentals, including IPv4/IPv6, load balancing, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with storage, virtualization, monitoring, and observability platforms.
  • Working knowledge of 4G and 5G network architectures and telecom environments.
  • Demonstrated success troubleshooting across infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes, and application layers.
  • Previous experience leading technical teams, managing escalations, and operating in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE), or Oracle server hardware.
  • Knowledge of F5 technologies and service mesh architectures.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation, YAML-based deployments, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or telecom infrastructure environments.
