Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of BI Product to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our business intelligence product portfolio. This senior leadership role will oversee a team of product owners and partner cross-functionally with engineering, design, marketing, and executive leadership to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that drive enterprise growth and customer engagement.
The ideal candidate combines strong product leadership with deep experience in digital product ecosystems, analytics, and business intelligence. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution to ensure successful product outcomes aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Product Strategy & Vision
    • Align product strategy to operational plans developed by engineering teams to ensure effective delivery of solutions
    • Define and drive a compelling product vision aligned with enterprise objectives and customer needs.
    • Develop and execute long-term product strategies and roadmaps that support scalable growth and innovation.
    • Communicate product vision, priorities, and progress effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of product owners.
    • Establish clear expectations, foster accountability, and model strong leadership behaviors.
    • Promote a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Portfolio & Roadmap Management
    • Oversee a portfolio of BI products, ensuring alignment with business goals and KPIs.
    • Lead product planning, prioritization, and roadmap development using OKRs and performance insights.
    • Drive test-and-learn strategies (A/B testing, prototyping, experimentation) to optimize product performance.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
    • Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align product strategy with overall business vision.
    • Influence decision-making across a complex stakeholder landscape.
    • Foster healthy relationships with vendors to gain insights that help us realize the full potential of products we license.

  • Customer & Market Insight
    • Conduct ongoing market research and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities.
    • Leverage customer feedback and product data to continuously improve product offerings.
    • Champion customer-centric design and audience-focused digital experiences.

  • Execution & Delivery
    • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and features.
    • Oversee release planning, product launches, and post-launch optimizations.
    • Drive accountability for achieving product KPIs and OKRs across the portfolio.

  • Performance & Optimization
    • Define and track key performance metrics to evaluate product success and ROI.
    • Lead monthly product reviews and executive updates with actionable insights.
    • Manage product budgets and ensure efficient investment allocation.

Qualifications
  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field required (Master's preferred)
    • 8+ years of product owner experience, including 2-4+ years in a leadership role
    • OR 10+ years of relevant experience without a degree, including 2-4+ years in a leadership experience

  • Leadership & Product Expertise
    • Proven experience leading teams of product owners and delivering complex product portfolios
    • Strong background in BI, software, and / or digital product strategy
    • Demonstrated success in product portfolio planning, ROI evaluation, and optimization

  • Business Intelligence & Technical Acumen
    • Understanding of business intelligence concepts and how products drive data insights
    • Experience with agile methodologies and modern product management tools
