Job description

Job Title: Trial Scientist

Location: 100% Remote (Work from anywhere with some optional travel to cases or conferences)

Compensation: Highly Competitive

The Opportunity

This is a one-of-a-kind job that allows you to work at the absolute cutting edge of the legal profession. At Campbell Law, we didn’t just adopt the field of using empirical, big-data studies to refine trial strategy—we invented it.

We use massive datasets, empirical jury studies, and other methods to help lawyers prepare cases for mediation and trial. In this role, you will have the chance to work on some of the most important, high-stakes cases in the country (many of which you will see in the national news), partnering directly with the best trial lawyers in the game.

This job is incredibly demanding, but it is equally rewarding. If you love the intellectual side of the law, the strategy of a massive case, and the science of winning—but you no longer want the traditional, full-time courtroom grind—this is where you belong.

What You Will Do

The Core Work (80% - Data & Strategy):

  • Consult & Deconstruct: Meet with elite trial lawyers to deeply understand the facts, friction points, and goals of their most significant cases.
  • Review & Refine: Review case presentations to identify exactly what needs to be tested and to get the case into order for testing.
  • Build Studies: Draft and build comprehensive, empirical jury research studies based on the case facts.
  • Report the Results: Analyze the data and deliver actionable, strategic reports that shape the narrative for trial.

The Litigation Work (20% - Active Practice):

  • Because we partner on these massive cases, we are often invited in as co-counsel. You will spend about 20% of your time remaining active in litigation—assisting with strategic drafting, guiding discovery goals, and refining case elements as the litigation unfolds.

Who You Are

  • Experienced in PI (Required): You must have a strong background in Personal Injury litigation.
  • Litigation Background: We are open to diverse backgrounds. Whether you cut your teeth in Plaintiff’s PI, Insurance Defense, or Big Law litigation, if you know how personal injury cases work and how to build a case, we want to talk to you.
  • Highly Detail-Oriented: You do not let things slip through the cracks. Building data studies requires unrelenting attention to detail.
  • Deadline Driven: You manage your own time flawlessly and hit every deadline without requiring a manager to look over your shoulder.
  • A Writer at Heart: You actually enjoy the writing, drafting, and research side of the law.
  •

The Reality of the Job

  • The Environment: 100% remote. You have the total freedom to work from wherever you do your best work.
  • The Schedule: Expect odd hours. This is not a standard 9-to-5. We work when the cases demand it, often on rush timelines.
  • The Effort: It is hard work. The standards are incredibly high, and you are working on the biggest stages in the country.
  • The Reward: Very competitive pay, the elimination of typical courtroom stress, and the opportunity to do elite, precedent-setting work. Opportunity over time to earn bonuses and additional pay from larger cases.

Company Description

Family owned. The first in its field and current industry leader. Laid back. We host cool conferences too.
