What are Remote Junior Software Developers?

Remote Junior Software Developers are entry-level programmers who work from locations outside of a traditional office setting. Job description

Description

Our team and what we will accomplish together

The Pharmacy Development team is at the forefront of transforming healthcare delivery. We build intelligent, scalable systems and digital tools that help pharmacy professionals increase their efficiency and deliver better patient outcomes-and we're doing it in an industry rapidly shifting toward virtual, digital, and connected care.

Our Pharmacy Development team is large, multi-disciplinary, and ambitious. We design and deploy management tools, mobile applications, and integration services that enable pharmacies to thrive in a digitally connected world. As we accelerate AI adoption across our development practices, we're pioneering AI-driven development in healthcare-integrating generative AI, knowledge bases, and automated testing into every phase of product development to solve complex pharmacy workflow challenges faster and smarter.

As a Senior Software Developer, you will take ownership of complex technical initiatives, mentor talented engineers, and shape how we responsibly integrate AI into our development practices. You will work alongside innovators who don't just understand technology-you embrace AI as the way you work every day, using it to generate code, write and validate tests, solve integration challenges, and continuously improve how we build.

What you will do
  • Design, architect, and lead development of pharmacy management tools, mobile applications, and integration services that streamline workflows for healthcare professionals-ensuring these systems are secure, scalable, and solve real problems in the pharmacy ecosystem

  • Write, review, and refactor production code-staying hands-on with the codebase while driving continuous improvement through optimization, modernization, and refactoring of critical technical systems

  • Integrate AI into your daily development practice-leveraging generative AI and knowledge bases to troubleshoot integration issues between systems, generate and validate automated tests, write and review code more efficiently, and explore emerging AI capabilities that could enhance our pharmacy solutions

  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing to establish coding standards, best practices, and an AI-forward development culture

  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and healthcare stakeholders to understand pharmacy workflows and translate complex healthcare requirements into elegant technical solutions that users actually want to use

  • Participate in architectural decisions and design reviews, contributing to technical roadmap planning, technology strategy, and proof-of-concept projects to evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks

  • Monitor industry trends in both healthcare technology and AI capabilities, maintaining expertise in emerging technologies to keep the team at the forefront of innovation

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Active, hands-on experience with generative AI tools and large language models (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) integrated into your development practice-you use AI daily to write code, generate tests, troubleshoot problems, and explore solutions

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with a track record of delivering complex systems (or equivalent demonstrated expertise-we're open to candidates with less traditional development background if you have significant hands-on experience experimenting with and integrating AI into development workflows)

  • Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks (Java, C#/.Net Core, JavaScript/Node.js, Kotlin, Python, or equivalent)

  • Demonstrated expertise in full-stack development including backend APIs, database design, and modern frontend technologies

  • Deep understanding of design patterns, system architecture, and SOLID principles

  • Proven experience with containerization and CI/CD pipelines (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, or similar)

  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and asynchronous programming

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical discussions with clear communication and collaborative skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience

Great-to-haves

  • Enterprise-scale systems experience, distributed architecture, and microservices design

  • Knowledge of software security best practices, vulnerability management, and responsible AI principles

  • Experience in healthcare technology, pharmacy systems, or regulated industries

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.
