Job description

Fuels Superintendent
Location: Remote / Nationwide (up to 80 percent travel to U.S. airport project sites)
Our client is a nationally recognized heavy-civil contractor whose aviation fueling backlog is exploding thanks to award-winning safety performance, innovative self-perform capabilities, and long-term partnerships with commercial and military airports coast to coast. As the Fuels Superintendent, you will own field execution for complex jet-fuel infrastructure-turning strategic goals into safe, high-quality results that keep America's air traffic moving. If you thrive on leading crews in live airfields and want the freedom of a remote role with nationwide impact, this opportunity is built for you.
Key Responsibilities
  • Direct all on-site activities for aviation fuel-handling projects-storage terminals, underground and above-ground pipelines, hydrant networks, pumping and filtration skids, and automated control systems.
  • Coordinate daily work inside active airfields, ensuring strict compliance with airport security, safety, and operational procedures.
  • Plan site logistics, craft labor, subcontractors, equipment, and materials to meet or beat safety, schedule, quality, and cost targets.
  • Champion a behavior-based safety culture and verify adherence to FAA, NFPA, API, and state and local regulations.
  • Develop and maintain three-week look-ahead schedules and update the master project plan in concert with Project Management and airport stakeholders.
  • Track production quantities and earned-value metrics, recommending corrective actions to keep projects on course.
  • Interpret IFC drawings and specifications, generate RFIs, and craft field-driven solutions to unforeseen conditions.
  • Produce concise daily progress, safety, and quality reports and present status updates to leadership and client teams.
  • Build trusted relationships with airport authorities, owners, inspectors, vendors, and internal partners.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years leading construction of jet-fuel or petroleum distribution facilities in active airports or Department of Defense environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with fuel storage tanks, hydrant or pit systems, fuel piping, pump/filtration assemblies, and mechanical or electrical controls.
  • Working knowledge of FAA, NFPA 407, API standards, and related fire-code requirements.
  • Proficiency with construction scheduling tools and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel up to 80 percent nationwide and qualify for airport security badging.
  • OSHA 30 (or equivalent) required; bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary plus performance bonus.
  • Day-one health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Company truck or monthly vehicle allowance and paid travel expenses.
  • Generous PTO and 10+ company holidays.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Robust technical training and leadership-development programs.
