Remote Japanese Game Localization information

What is remote Japanese game localization?

Remote Japanese game localization is the process of adapting video games developed in Japanese for players in other regions and languages, all while working from a location outside of a traditional office, often from home. This role typically involves translating game text, dialogue, user interfaces, and cultural references to ensure the game is accessible and enjoyable for the target audience. Localization professionals also check for accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and maintain the original game's intent. The position requires strong language skills, cultural sensitivity, and familiarity with gaming terminology.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote Japanese game localization specialist?

To thrive as a Remote Japanese Game Localization Specialist, you need advanced proficiency in both Japanese and the target language, strong cultural understanding, and experience in translation or localization, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with CAT tools like SDL Trados, game localization platforms, and version control systems is typically required. Attention to detail, creativity, and excellent communication skills help ensure accurate and engaging translations that resonate with players. These skills are crucial for delivering high-quality, culturally appropriate game experiences that maintain the original intent while appealing to global audiences.

What are the main challenges of working remotely as a Japanese game localization specialist, and how can they be managed?

One of the main challenges in remote Japanese Game Localization is effective communication with both the game development team and other localization specialists, especially across different time zones. Ensuring cultural nuances and gaming terminology are accurately translated while preserving the original context requires close collaboration and regular feedback. To manage these challenges, it's essential to establish clear communication channels, participate actively in team meetings, and use collaborative tools for project tracking and terminology management. Proactively seeking clarification and maintaining documentation also help ensure consistency and quality in the localization process.

We are hiring an Enterprise Account Executive with 5+ years of Mid-Market and Enterprise B2B SaaS sales experience in adtech, martech, creative tech, with a track record of ranking among the top performers on their team. This role is envisioned for someone who's ready to grow beyond individual contributor roles, with vision to help lead and shape our Sales team.

The Enterprise AE role is best suited for someone with solid experience in complex sales processes, already under their belt, and someone who's genuinely excited about the idea of moving into leadership roles over time.

Who you are

  • 5+ years of Enterprise B2B SaaS sales experience, with at least 2+ years selling paid social, adtech, or martech solutions
  • A consistent top performer (with results you're proud sharing)
  • Someone who's ready for more than just another AE seat - you want a path toward owning strategy, mentoring reps, and eventually building/leading a team
  • Deep curiosity and ambition to help performance marketers solve real business problems and drive measurable impact, efficiency, and growth
  • Able to quickly master complex products and ecosystems, and sell effectively from C-suite executives to hands-on practitioners
  • Solid grasp of digital creative and media workflows, from production through delivery
  • Existing strong relationships in key verticals such as e-commerce, retail, entertainment, gaming, automotive, and travel
  • Comfortable owning complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deal cycles end-to-end
  • Eager to travel for prospect meetings, industry events, and conferences

Role Overview

As an Enterprise Account Executive, you'll own complex, mid-market to enterprise sales cycles across accounts, selling directly to brands and media agencies.

This is a consultative, value-driven sale - not a transactional one. You'll be expected to:

  • Build a list of target accounts and work with marketing on ABM outreach playbooks
  • Navigate multiple stakeholder CMO, Director Marketing, Head of Performance, Paid Social Managers
  • Sell into paid social, growth, creative, and performance teams
  • Close ACVs typically in the 100k-300k+ range
  • Work closely with Sales, Partnerships, and Client Partnerships to land and expand strategic accounts

Beyond the deals themselves, we're looking for someone who will help shape how this team operates as it grows, sharing what's working, mentoring newer reps informally, and putting themselves in a position to take on formal leadership as the team scales.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Execution

  • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting → discovery → solutioning → pilot → close
  • Run complex demos and POCs focused on incrementality, creative performance, and scale
  • Use your expertise in e-commerce, travel, retail, and entertainment to personalize use cases
  • Understand localization, creative testing, catalog-based advertising, DPA, CPV, creative fatigue, and media efficiency
  • Maintain 3–5x pipeline coverage
  • Accurately forecast revenue and manage long-cycle enterprise deals
  • Collaborate with RevOps and marketing on ABM and target account strategies

Beyond the Number

  • Act as a source of best practice for the wider sales team
  • Take initiative on process, playbooks, and deal strategy - not just execution
  • Build the track record and visibility that puts you in line for a leadership role as the team grows

Requirements

Experience

  • 5+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience
  • 2+ years selling paid social, adtech, or martech solutions
  • Demonstrated, provable top-performer track record
  • Proven experience closing $100k+ ACV deals with agencies and/or brands
  • Strong understanding of Meta, TikTok, Snap ecosystems

Skills

  • Challenger / consultative selling mindset
  • Excellent discovery and value articulation
  • Comfortable selling technical products to the C-suite
  • Strong deal hygiene and CRM discipline
  • Early signs of leadership, whether that's formal management experience or informally mentoring peers and driving team-wide initiatives

If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

Compensation (US): Base salary $120K – $150K, with total OTE (50/50 base : variable) of $240K – $300K.
