Job description

The Role: 

As the NA Procurement Manager, reporting to the Sr. Director - Sourcing, you will be  responsible for the planning, execution, and procurement of materials, equipment, and services across all sites in the region while meeting business and commercial priorities and ensuring efficient purchasing processes, supplier performance, compliance, and alignment with strategic sourcing objectives.  Additionally, you will organize and lead a team of buyers and interface with other functions to ensure alignment of needs and priorities. You will ensure the procurement processes and guidelines are followed across the region and within the outsourced central PO creation team.

How You Will Make an Impact: 

  • Execute indirect, direct, and corporate procurement by leading a team towards achieving "right material in right packaging in right quantity at right time at right place with right price in right quality with right documentation"
  • Implement sourcing strategies as per guidelines from North America Procurement both indirectly through team leadership and directly by leading a category of expenditure 
  • Execute P2P management in line with North America Procurement guidelines including the P2P operational model (identification of needs; creation of requisitions; facilitation of approvals; creation and management of purchase orders; support receipt; support Finance in management of payments/compliance; manage contracts and performance metrics; client issue resolution; management of item catalog; fulfilment of supplier allocation guidelines)
  • Ensure ERP processes and data standards are being adhered to while looking for improvements and gap closures
  • Ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain accurate vendor master and material master data
  • Support the inventory management processes and achieve inventory targets, participating as required in SIOP, MRP, and inventory budget/target setting processes
  • Validate mid- and long-term supply requirements for sites
  • Responsible for adherence of the North American Procurement guidelines as it pertains to Supplier Relationship Management; including implementation/onboarding, management to KPIs/scorecards, auditing, supplier stratification/classification accuracy, coordination of contract changes and facilitation of relationships with operations
  • Team management and development (performance, training, backup setup)
  • Drive continuous improvement in a prioritized way in close cooperation with the Sr. Director - Sourcing, including KPI management

  • Bachelor's degree in business or chemistry 
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Purchasing in an operational leadership role
  • Prior experience with planning/S&OP, service provider management, ERP process/data management, remote team management
