Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations during initial consultations, skillfully gathering information that informs case documentation and subsequent treatment plans.
  • Monitor and document each client's progress throughout their treatment journey, adapting strategies as necessary to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Develop individualized intervention and recovery plans tailored to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate engaging and evidence-based individual and group therapy sessions that foster personal growth and coping strategies.
  • Effectively collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of mental health specialists, doctors, nurses, and social workers, integrating feedback to refine intervention strategies.
  • Perform follow-ups with medical professionals regarding clients who have been hospitalized, ensuring continuity of care and comprehensive support.
  • Work proactively to identify and mitigate any behaviors that could hinder a client's recovery journey.
  • Offer guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers in managing mental health challenges, enhancing the client's support system.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic serves a diverse range of clients, including adults, adolescents, and families facing various mental health challenges. You will engage with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction problems, and other emotional or behavioral concerns. This role requires a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and the impact of socio-economic factors on client well-being.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
  • A successful pass of the NCE and/or the NCMHCE examination is required.
  • This position requires a minimum of three years of experience as a mental health counselor with a proven track record of delivering effective therapeutic outcomes.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, for efficient documentation and progress tracking.
  • A strong understanding of the interconnected nature of physical and mental health issues and the impacts of addiction disorders is essential.
  • Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, paired with a high degree of empathy and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of modern psychotherapy techniques and developments in mental health treatment.
  • Experience dealing with the complexities of dual diagnoses and the management of prescribed medications.
