Position Summary

The Project/Financial Analyst for Renewable Concepts, LLC reports directly to the BU Controller. The Project/Financial Analyst serves as a business partner to project management and operations by providing financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, billing support, and project controls expertise. This position helps ensure projects are executed profitably by monitoring financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities, supporting forecasting activities, and driving data-based decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure consistent adherence to business processes and procedures.
  • Perform critical analysis of project processes and evaluate them against best practices.
  • Analyze and explain the facts and status of assigned projects to the RCL Management Team.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of project analysis and reporting, including:
    • Cost analysis (e.g., actual incurred vs. forecast/budget),
    • Hour's analysis (e.g., actual incurred vs. forecast/budget),
    • Estimate to Complete / overall Estimate at Completion development and assumption validation,
    • Percent complete review and validation,
    • Purchase commitment (e.g., actual commitment vs. forecast/budget), and
    • Risk identification, analysis, quantification, monitoring, and reporting.
    • Must be able to analyze large amounts of field data (percent completion, performance to schedule) and financial data (accounts payable, receivable).
  • Prepare project-related billing.
  • Coordinate and ensure proper project-specific bonding.
  • Maintain a reasonable understanding of standard commercial terms.
  • Support project teams in day-to-day troubleshooting, including:
    • Time collection issues with RPTS; and
    • Project analysis and reporting.
  • Team-oriented and able to contribute effectively to a group with diverse skills and experience.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of key financial statements and the supporting general ledger.
  • Prepare certain general ledger reconciliations, as necessary.
  • Perform month-end project financial reviews and reconciliations, including the evaluation of project status, percent complete, forecast assumptions, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) to ensure the accurate recognition of project revenue and profitability.
  • Conduct sales tax research and support compliance with state and local tax regulations as they relate to project operations, invoicing, and customer contracts.

Requirements

Position Qualifications

Understanding of the project management process, including estimating, cost management, schedule development, change management, project controls, project administration, billing, and subcontracting.

         Ability to identify, assess, and communicate project risks.

         Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with remote project teams, accounting, and management.

         Must be self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements in a fast-paced environment.

         Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, both written and oral.

         Strong organizational skills.

Qualifications and Education Requirements: 

         Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field 

         1 - 3 years of work experience in finance analytics, project accounting 

         Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel 

Preferred Skills: 

         Work experience in the construction industry 

         Experience with Power BI, Costpoint, Microsoft Dynamics 

         Certified Public Accountant of similar certification
