Job Summary:
The Buyer/Planner plays a critical role in effectively managing working capital for BOX Partners. This role has key accountabilities for inventory management and hands-on purchasing day-to-day functions. Working with the Inventory Purchasing Manager, this role is responsible for the successful integration of inventory best practices to support successful growing distribution operations and production activities. Buyer/Planner has the opportunity to apply inventory process expertise to meet the needs of both internal stakeholders while satisfying customer expectations. Effective process management and high-level analytical work will be key factors in sustained success in the role.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze inventory levels and work with warehouse and accounting staff on inventory administration.
  • Maintain and build relationships with vendors and distribution management.
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing Specialists and Category Management to solve vendor issues, vendor changes, and potential product additions.
  • Manage the purchase order life-cycle end-to-end process.
  • Coordinates the flow of materials and products through the supply chain by communicating with other departments within an organization.
  • Responsible for purchasing a variety of categories for multiple locations.
  • Responsible for maintaining correct inventory levels based on procurement metrics.
  • Following up on late POs and updating our internal customers.
  • Resolving backorders and general item maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong skillset in Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Excel.

Education and Experience:
  • Work History Requirements:
    • 3-5 years managing inventory through analytical statistics.
    • Distribution experience preferred.
  • Education Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree, with a concentration in supply chain, business, or finance preferred.
    • Or a related degree with 3-5 years of relevant industry and work experience

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Annual pay is commensurate to relevant experience: $75,000 - $100,000. This position is bonus eligible based on company performance.
