Description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Materials Handler to join our team on a temporary full-time basis for a three-month assignment. This role is responsible for purchase order receiving, inventory control, shipping and receiving operations, and ensuring accurate inventory accounting procedures. The Materials Handler will help maintain efficient warehouse operations by receiving incoming deliveries, preparing outgoing shipments, and supporting inventory management activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive, distribute, and store products in designated secure locations
  • Prepare and maintain records of materials received and shipped, including transaction dates, locations, and other pertinent information
  • Transport and load materials, supplies, and finished goods manually or using hand trucks and skids
  • Resolve shipping, receiving, and inventory-related issues with contractors and vendors as needed
  • Collect and properly dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, strapping, and other packaging materials
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and international regulations and company policies
  • Monitor inventory movement through inventory management software and physical inventory counts
  • Coordinate with team leaders to plan and schedule deliveries
  • Apply safe lifting, loading, and material handling techniques

Shipping and Receiving Responsibilities
  • Accept and process deliveries from USPS, FedEx, freight carriers, and other vendors
  • Ensure product handling and shipping practices meet customer expectations and business objectives
  • Review shipping tickets and packing documentation
  • Scan, pack, weigh, and label inventory for shipment
  • Verify shipment accuracy and maintain shipping records

Inventory and Kitting Responsibilities

  • Receive purchase orders and perform quality inspections on incoming goods
  • Verify incoming products against packing slips and purchase orders
  • Close out purchase orders and update inventory management systems accurately

  • Support inventory accuracy through ongoing monitoring and reconciliation
