About CTI
Calibration Technologies, Inc. (CTI) is a national gas detection service company. Our field technicians calibrate, test, and maintain gas detection systems for industrial and commercial facilities across the country, helping keep people and property safe. We are known for doing careful, well-documented work, and for treating our team and our customers well.
The Role
We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded ground spotter to support our field service technicians on jobs that require working at height. When a technician operates a scissor lift inside a customer facility, you are the trained second person on the ground keeping the work area safe. This is an as-needed position: we reach out ahead of scheduled jobs, usually a few weeks in advance, and you take the assignments that work for you. There is no set schedule and no obligation to accept any given trip.
What You Would Do
  • Travel to customer facilities across North America to assist with all requested aspects of gas detection systems.
  • Serve as the ground spotter while a technician operates a scissor lift inside a customer facility.
  • Watch overhead clearances, pedestrian traffic, and obstructions, and keep the work path clear.
  • Act as the second set of eyes for safe movement and operation of the lift.
  • Communicate with the technician and facility staff to keep the job moving safely.
  • Communicate effectively with office personnel and respond promptly to requests for documentation, training records, report approval, or other administrative needs.
  • You would not operate the lift. Your role is ground support and on-site safety.

Requirements
What We Are Looking For
  • High School degree or equivalency (required).
  • Must be 21 years of age with a reliable vehicle & acceptable driving record.
  • Comfortable around tools, equipment, and active job sites.
  • Ability to work in all industrial environments.
  • Familiar with basic workplace safety practices.
  • Able to travel independently: booking and managing flights, handling a rental car, and navigating to unfamiliar facilities on your own.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional with customers on site.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to pass a background check and any customer site safety orientation or screening.
  • Able to stand and stay attentive for the length of a work session, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Salary Description
$50/hour
