Job description

Calibration Technologies is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist (Set-Up & Operator) is responsible for machining processes within our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining 3-axis CNC milling machines and mill-turn lathes to produce high-precision components.
We're looking for a hands-on technician who can interpret technical drawings, maintain tight tolerances, and uphold high standards for quality and safety.
This role may be structured as either part-time or full-time, depending on the availability of the most qualified candidate.
Setup & Operation
  • Set up, operate, and maintain 3-axis CNC milling machines
  • Set up and maintain mill-turn lathes for complex, high-precision parts

Programming & Optimization
  • Load and navigate CNC programs
  • Make minor G-code edits and tool offset adjustments to maintain tolerances and optimize machining efficiency

Quality & Inspection
  • Perform in-process and final inspections
  • Use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges) to ensure accuracy

Maintenance
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, etc.)
  • Identify and report machine issues proactively

Blueprint Interpretation
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine setup and machining requirements

Safety & Organization
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in alignment with 5S standards
  • Follow all company safety protocols

Requirements
Qualifications & Skills Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong math skills (geometry, compound equations)
  • Ability to operate CNC and manual machining equipment
  • Experience with precision measurement tools
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • High attention to detail (tolerances up to .0005")

Preferred
  • Technical training in CNC machining
  • Experience with mill-turn lathes
  • Familiarity with G-code
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360 or Esprit

  • Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment with proper PPE

Salary Description
$22-26/ hour
