The Business Consultant is the core functional expert responsible for translating customer business needs into a working solution. This role leads the blueprint phase, performs the hands-on application configuration, and provides functional support during solution testing to ensure the deployed system meets the established requirements.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Business Blueprinting: Lead workshops and interviews to document and validate client business requirements. Create detailed functional design documents specifying the final configured state of the application. Coach client through defining requirements, review and validate requirements with Technical Consultants. Test and validate configurations prior to handoff to customer to test.

  • Application Configuration: Execute the PLM basic configuration (views, enum, etc.) according to the approved user stories. Work collaboratively with the technical consultant to ensure configuration adheres to best practices and performance standards defined by the Team Lead.

  • Testing Support: Own the functional integrity of the configured solution. Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and provide critical functional guidance during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to resolve issues related to configuration or design.

  • Design Peer Review: Actively participate in design peer reviews of colleague's work, providing constructive feedback on functional viability, complexity, and adherence to company standards.

  • Issue Resolution: Log and manage configuration and functional defects discovered during testing.

  • Escalation: Escalate complex or challenging business requirement scenarios that threaten the standard design approach.

Knowledge & skills requirements

  • Required Technical Mastery: Strong functional experience with Centric PLM, including the ability to independently perform system configuration.

  • Organizational Knowledge: Solid understanding of industry standard business processes (apparel, F&B, Beauty, Consumer electronics, etc.) and the ability to map those processes to application capabilities.

  • Communication & Requirements: Proven ability to lead structured client workshops, effectively document complex designs, and communicate functional trade-offs to business users.

Top Success Criteria

  • Adoption: Ensure that the delivered solution will facilitate the customer adoption of Centric PLM.

  • Design Acceptance: All assigned functional design blueprints are formally signed off by the client and pass the internal peer review process.

  • Configuration Quality: Deliver a properly configured application.

  • Test Support: Effectively assist in the resolution of issues during the testing phase.


The US base salary range for this full-time position is Negotiable. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The range for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed reflect the base salary and certain positions may be offered with additional variable incentives.
