About the Role
Culmen International is seeking Forensics Advisors and Instructors to support global criminal justice training and advising requirements.
These positions can be located all around the globe and requires international travel from selected candidates.
This is a talent pipeline requisition for future opportunities. Qualified candidates will be contacted when a position becomes available.
What You'll Do in Your New Role
  • Provide technical guidance to forensic laboratories, crime scene units, or specialized forensic disciplines to strengthen scientific capabilities.
  • Deliver training on forensic techniques, laboratory practices, accreditation standards, quality assurance, and evidence handling.
  • Mentor forensic personnel in analytical methods, case documentation, reporting, and courtroom testimony.
  • Conduct assessments of forensic laboratory operations and recommend improvements aligned with international accreditation and scientific standards.
  • Support development of training curricula, standard operating procedures, or quality management systems for partner forensic organizations.
  • Provide technical oversight on equipment use, maintenance, validation, and facility capabilities.
  • Promote adherence to scientific integrity, chain-of-custody standards, and internationally accepted best practices (generalized from typical forensics SME responsibilities).

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in field relevant to forensic science.
  • At least 6 years of progressively increasing forensic laboratory or crime scene experience. Lab-based work should be in an accredited laboratory.
  • Crime scene specialists with accredited certification
  • Experience conducting examinations on serious crimes, preparing reports and testifying as an expert witness.
  • Experience teaching or providing training to, but not limited to, new analysts, investigators, university students or other practicing forensic scientists.
  • Through understanding of all the instruments and equipment relevant to their area of expertise to include maintenance and validation requirements.
  • Demonstrate regular continuing education in forensic science throughout their career.
  • Experience conducting internal audits or serving as an outside inspector of laboratories for accreditation purposes.
  • Valid US Passport and willing to travel OCONUS.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance (does require US Citizenship).

Desired Qualifications
  • Exceed the requirement or unique qualification such as language capabilities, may be used to mitigate deficiencies in other areas as reasonable.
  • Demonstrated experience as a leader in their technical field through participation in national scientific working groups or commissions can be substituted for managerial experience.
  • Experience working in an international setting through training foreign scientists, mentoring senior leaders, auditing foreign laboratories or the like.
  • Foreign Language fluency is desirable.
