• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand patients' histories and identify tailored treatment approaches.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans centered on principles of trauma recovery, ensuring they are regularly updated based on patient progress.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to assist clients in overcoming traumatic experiences.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe space for patients to express their feelings, develop coping strategies, and cultivate resilience.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical professionals, and a multidisciplinary team to create integrated care plans that address the complex needs of each patient.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring that patients feel heard and supported during critical moments.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma's impact, coping mechanisms, and community resources to promote informed recovery.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in alignment with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Engage in case consultations and team meetings to enhance treatment effectiveness and participate in continuous professional development activities.
• Stay current with the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to contribute to the center's progressive treatment approach.

Our clientele primarily consists of individuals grappling with trauma-related issues, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your expertise will be essential in addressing these intricate challenges with compassion and professional insight, aiding our patients in accessing the tools they need for recovery. You will be working closely with diverse populations, tailoring approaches to meet unique cultural, social, and emotional needs.

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Active licensure in the state of New York as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R is essential.
• At least two years of post-licensure experience in a related field is preferred, demonstrating your readiness for this impactful role.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-informed treatment modalities and resilience strategies, with direct experience in administering trauma-focused therapies.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are vital, allowing you to create a non-judgmental environment for patients.
• The ability to remain composed in high-stress scenarios, addressing patients’ immediate needs with empathy.
• Proficient in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.

Preferred candidates will have demonstrable experience in trauma therapy, including familiarity with group facilitation and crisis intervention. Advanced knowledge of culturally sensitive care and an understanding of community resources available to support patients and their families are also advantageous in this collaborative role.
