Job description

We are seeking a full-time Industrial Wastewater Engineer to join EnSafe's team of professionals at one of our U.S. office locations.

In this role, you'll partner with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative industrial wastewater and water treatment solutions for a diverse client base while expanding your technical expertise and growing your career within an employee-owned consulting firm.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Technical strength with industrial wastewater (IWW) treatment and design engineering across a variety of industries.
  • Support or lead design of IWW collection, conveyance, and treatment projects.
  • Manage design-build and construction services.
  • Manage equipment selection and procurement, manage construction phase engineering services, and participate in design and construction meetings with clients, subcontractors, and regulators.
  • Lead technical teams working across multiple offices to:
    • develop treatment options and cost estimates,
    • prepare plans and specifications, including PFDs, P&IDs, and layouts, and
    • write work plans, design reports, SOPs, O&M manuals, and other documentation.
  • Provide inspection/troubleshooting support for existing IWW systems and identify enhancements.
  • Design and implement bench-scale and pilot-scale treatability studies, including data management and evaluation, mass balance/loading details, and treatment technology selection.
  • Participate in meetings with subcontractors, clients, and regulators.
  • Provide marketing/sales efforts, as well as proposal development.

Minimum Skill and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited college in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (Master's degree in pertinent discipline preferred).
  • 8-15 years of industrial wastewater design experience, with several years as a professional-in-responsible-charge.
  • Professional Engineer registration/License in FL, TX, TN, or other states.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, along with graphics software/AutoCAD, necessary for the conceptual design of industrial wastewater systems.
  • Previous experience with instrumentation and controls/automation is a plus.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing intricate ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
  • Strong self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with clients, regulators, project managers, and employees effectively, persuasively, and tactfully at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail.
  • 30% travel potential.
  • Valid driver's license to operate a vehicle in the U.S.
