The Opportunity

We are seeking a Analyst, Strategic Intelligence to join our Firm. This position will be based in our Washington D.C. office (hybrid). The Analyst, Strategic Intelligence will be responsible for collecting and organizing information related to company profiles, market research, industry trends, and other assigned research and operational tasks. They will also contribute to firmwide initiatives and projects by delivering timely and accurate data, documentation, and administrative support to drive business development, cross-selling, and growth opportunities.

  • Provide timely research and operational support for a range of business development projects across the firm
  • Gather and compile company profiles, including details on company operations, key management, transactional and litigation activity, and recent news, as requested by attorneys, business development professionals, and broader SI team
  • Generate and maintain client, industry, and regional lists by integrating internal and external data on a quarterly or ad-hoc basis
  • Reconcile external target lists with internal databases and maintain accurate internal records for specific practice areas
  • Support the broader SI team on complex projects by conducting preparatory work and providing ad-hoc research or operational assistance as needed
  • Monitor and report on new developments in various companies, industries and geographic regions using a range of internal and external data sources
  • Prepare ad hoc extracts of transactional and litigation data, such as company or competitor information. in various formats to support specific requests and projects

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with the full Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, look-ups, etc.)
  • Ability to compile, organize and summarize information from multiple sources in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgment, particularly when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy and organization
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team; adaptable to change and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Processes research skills, utilizing various online sources to gather information
  • Basic understanding of business financials, including familiarity with SEC filings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to build trust-based relationships with teammates and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated passion for excellence and a desire to make a significant impact.
  • Familiarity with market intelligence tools such as CapIQ, Mergermarket, Pitchbook, Bloomberg Law, Refinitiv, BoardEx, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar platforms is a plus
  • Knowledge of and experience with SQL is a plus
  • Manages Firm resources responsibly
  • Adherence to firm operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Flexibility to adjust hours work hours as necessary business needs

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of one year of related work experience, preferably in a law firm

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

$85,000 - $95,000
