Our Hanover Technology Group (HTG) Business Innovation team is currently seeking an Innovation Research Assistant in our Worcester, MA location on a hybrid basis or fully remote work location. This is a full-time, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role will report into our Business Innovation team and serve as the enterprise hub for emerging technology trends, competitive intelligence, and vendor evaluation. This role is responsible for delivering actionable insights to inform strategic decision-making, optimizing investment in innovation, and reducing duplicative efforts across business units. The analyst partners with business and technology leaders to bring an outside-in perspective and ensure alignment with enterprise priorities.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
Market, Competitive & Technology Intelligence
  • Conduct ongoing research on market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies relevant to the organization.
  • Synthesize insights from diverse sources (e.g., industry reports, venture capital activity, conferences, peer companies) into clear, actionable intelligence.
  • Maintain awareness of industry best practices, disruptive innovations, and strategic risks/opportunities.

Vendor Evaluation & Innovation Intake
  • Lead structured vendor evaluations, including due diligence, comparative analysis, and recommendation development.
  • Establish and maintain consistent evaluation frameworks to assess technology fit, scalability, and enterprise value.
  • Act as the primary liaison for BrokerTech Ventures intake, coordinating evaluation, prioritization, and feedback loops.

Enterprise Insight Sharing & Coordination
  • Consolidate insights, learnings, and experimentation results across business lines to reduce siloed efforts and duplication.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and alignment across business and technology stakeholders.
  • Develop repositories or forums for capturing and distributing strategic intelligence.

Executive Reporting & Communication
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, briefings, and updates for leadership on a regular and ad hoc basis.
  • Translate complex intelligence into clear narratives that support decision-making.
  • Incorporate external perspectives, including insights from venture capital firms, conferences, industry networks, and BrokerTech Ventures.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • Bachelor's degree required with Business or IT focus preferred
  • 1-3 years experience
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication capabilities required, including presenting findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders
  • Ability to understand the big picture
