• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify and prioritize specific needs for elderly residents.
• Provide both individual and group counseling, addressing emotional challenges and facilitating coping strategies related to aging and life transitions.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to the unique needs of geriatric clients.
• Educate family members and staff on mental health strategies that enhance the emotional well-being and quality of life of our elderly population.
• Deliver grief and loss counseling for residents and their families, particularly those navigating end-of-life issues.
• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs alongside mental health interventions aimed at promoting mental acuity among older adults.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in Florida.
• At least 4 years of recent, relevant experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.
• Familiarity with evidence-based interventions tailored to an older adult population.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to establish trust and rapport with elderly clients.
• Cultural sensitivity and empathy to engage with seniors from diverse backgrounds effectively.
• Ability to perform comprehensive assessments and develop personalized treatment plans.
• Knowledge of the ethical and legal standards governing geriatric mental health counseling.

• Specialization or additional training in geriatric mental health, including awareness of aging-related issues.
• Demonstrated experience in providing counseling services to seniors facing complex mental health challenges.
• Experience with telehealth platforms and virtual counseling techniques.
