Insurance Verification Specialist
Location: REMOTE
Entity: Alliance Health System
Reports To: Director of Revenue Cycle Management
Alliance Health System is seeking an Insurance Verification Specialist to review patient insurance and ensure necessary procedures are covered. To be successful in this role, an Insurance Verification Specialist must enter data in an accurate manner and update patient benefit information in the organization's insurance system, as well as verify that existing information is accurate.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to focus and work quickly, as insurance paperwork commonly needs to be processed in a timely manner.

Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Execute insurance verifications for all patients
  • Serve as a valued member of the administrative team with regard to gathering information based on individual coverage
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
  • Maintain clear communication with patients as well as insurance companies
  • Concisely, precisely and accurately document all information

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong understanding of benefits investigating, deductibles, co-insurances, out of pocket expense and benefit exclusions
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes
  • Minimum of 1 year of insurance verification experience, health education, patient navigation and/or health clinic patient assistance field, NJ PIP/Auto verification experience a plus
