POSITION TITLE: Property Field Claims Representative

STATUS: Exempt

COMPENSATION RANGE: $55,000-70,000 Annually

LOCATION: Remote with travel within the assigned territory listed below

REPORTS TO: Property Claims Manager

Property Field Claims Representative

Virginia Farm Bureau is seeking a customer focused Property Field Claims Representative (PFCR) to join our claims team. The PFCR is responsible for handling a variety of property damage and liability claims and providing efficient settlements in accordance with company procedures and standards.

LOCATION:

Field based position that does require traveling in Hampton Roads, Virginia and surrounding areas. Company Auto provided with covered gas, insurance, and maintenance.

POSITION

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Full time salaried position with benefits

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Investigate all losses assigned for Virginia Farm Bureau members.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures in the handling of all losses and other company matters.
  • Report all activity on all claim files to the company promptly.
  • Evaluate and Estimate claims using photos, measurements, estimating platforms, and other available resources.
  • Promptly reply to all complaints as requested.
  • Advise Underwriting Department on all poor risks.
  • Assist and give guidance to other claim personnel as requested.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years equivalent/applicable prior property insurance claims experience
  • Completion of AIC, CPCU or SCLA designation within 3 years of start date
  • Proficient in Xactimate
  • Good understanding of building components
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Strong investigation and settlement skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong Emotional Intelligence (EQ) skills
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • 5 years previous property claims experience
  • Knowledge of insurance contracts issued by the company
  • Experience with casualty insurance claims
