A Remote Inspire Sleep Apnea Specialist is a healthcare professional who supports patients using the Inspire therapy for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) through virtual or telehealth platforms. Inspire therapy is an FDA-approved, implantable device that helps keep airways open during sleep by delivering mild stimulation to airway muscles. Remote specialists assist with patient education, device troubleshooting, and follow-up care without the need for in-person visits. This role is especially valuable for ensuring ongoing patient support, device monitoring, and compliance with treatment protocols from a distance.

What does a remote Inspire Sleep Apnea specialist do?

A typical day for a Remote Inspire Sleep Apnea Specialist involves monitoring patient progress, providing virtual consultations, and troubleshooting devices remotely. Specialists regularly communicate with patients to assess therapy effectiveness, answer questions, and offer guidance on device usage. They also collaborate closely with physicians and clinical teams to relay patient updates and ensure coordinated care. Effective communication and adaptability are essential, as specialists must respond to patient needs while keeping up with evolving telehealth technologies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote Inspire Sleep Apnea specialist?

To thrive as a Remote Inspire Sleep Apnea Specialist, you need a solid background in respiratory therapy or sleep medicine, typically supported by relevant licensure and clinical experience. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, Inspire device management systems, and patient data analysis tools is crucial. Job description

Nurse Practitioner (Sleep Medicine)

Sleep Doctor PC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our clinical team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of patient care, specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of sleep disorders. From obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) to insomnia, you will help our patients reclaim their health by improving the quality of their rest. The ideal candidate is a proactive clinician who balances evidence-based medicine with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

What you get to do every day:

  • Clinical assessment: Conduct comprehensive sleep histories and physical examinations (via telehealth or in-person) to evaluate sleep-related complaints.
  • Diagnosis & testing: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including Home Sleep Apnea Tests (HSAT) and in-lab Polysomnography (PSG).
  • Treatment planning: Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including CPAP/BiPAP therapy, pharmacological interventions, and lifestyle counseling.
  • Patient education: Guide patients on sleep hygiene, the mechanics of sleep disorders, and the long-term health benefits of compliance with therapy.
  • Follow-up care: Monitor patient progress, manage equipment titration/adjustments, and provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) referrals or basic coaching.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our Sleep Technicians, Medical Director, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.

What you bring to the role:

  • Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nursing program.
  • Current, active unrestricted multi-state NP license preferred
  • Board certification (ANCC or AANP). Certification in Behavioral Sleep Medicine (CBSM) or experience in Sleep Medicine is a major plus.
  • DEA registration and state-specific prescriptive authority
  • Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
  • Experience with telehealth or remote patient care preferred
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and telehealth platforms. Familiarity with CPAP compliance software (e.g., Canvas, AirView, Care Orchestrator) is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to explain complex physiological concepts in "human" terms

Compensation range: $60-65/hr. Note that final compensation is subject to the candidate's specific qualifications and location, as well as the needs of the company.
