Job Description:

The Metrology Development Engineer is a key contributor within a multidisciplinary team advancing the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Defect Review Process across the MEMS probe manufacturing environment. This role focuses on developing, enhancing, and scaling AIdriven solutions to improve defect detection, metrology capabilities, and wafer quality. The engineer will collaborate with technical and operations personnel to drive continuous improvement and support manufacturing teams in achieving higher First Pass Yield.

Key Responsibilities:

Metrology Applications Development

  • Contribute to the development and deployment of AIbased algorithms and automated workflows for defect detection and classification within MEMS probe manufacturing.

CrossFunctional Collaboration & Technical Leadership

  • Work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams-including process engineering, metrology, automation, and operations-to identify improvement opportunities and ensure alignment of AIdriven solutions.

  • Leverage technical expertise and interpersonal skills to guide technicians and operations personnel through new processes, tool usage, and AIbased workflows.

  • Participate in new process qualifications, engineering builds, and process validation activities related to AI and automation.

Wafer Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives targeting wafer quality, defectivity reduction, and First Pass Yield enhancement through increased automation and AI enablement.

  • Analyze defect trends, inspect tool performance, and evaluate AI model accuracy to identify root causes and support corrective actions.

  • Develop and refine automated systems that provide realtime feedback and meaningful process data to manufacturing groups.

Documentation & Operational Support

  • Write process documentation, including workflow instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and modeltraining guidelines.

  • Provide training and daytoday support for production teams using AI-enhanced defect review tools.

  • Ensure data integrity, traceability, and proper version control of AI models, scripts, and process assets.

Pay Range:

$90,500.00 - $118,755.00

Pay Range Explained:

This role in Livermore, California pays between $90,500.00 and $118,755.00 per year, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations. We offer a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), and paid time off. You'll also be eligible for quarterly profit-sharing bonuses and flexible spending or savings accounts.
