We currently have an QA/QC Technician opening for team-oriented individuals possessing vocational training in electronics or electromechanical engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for providing service on ST products at customer sites. The position provides customer contact for all post-installation problems on security systems and equipment, as well as, special project work, when needed.

Job Description:

  • Field oversight on subcontractor to assure adherence to scope and specification
  • Growing knowledge of the specific details, reading specifications, and learning the best practices
  • Assure quality workmanship on detail items, both educating and checking on cable management, device plumb, caulking, terminations, shrink tube, labeling, grounding etc.
  • Field Photographs of rough in and device install and support of the mark-ups of them for submittals to assure client that the GC’s Electrical is performing to spec. “Rough in Mockups”
  • Attending field coordination meetings, pull plan meetings, tailgate meetings and safety meetings in lieu of or with the Project manager.
  • Aid with schedule coordination and work in certain areas, by assisting in the detailed upkeep of the conditions reporting documents.
  • Effectively be a force multiplier for the Project Manager supporting all aspects of the project as it relates to the Subcontractors field laborers and their practices.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Security hardware understanding, system architecture, standard installation practices
  • General Construction Knowledge including safety mindedness
  • Ability to stand up and speak to/advocate for our scope of work in group meetings, engage in coordination.
  • The ability to read and digest significant specification and best practice and provide checks and balance oversight against the data
  • General MS Office proficiency including:
    1. Email, creating meetings, drafting reports and updates and backing up the PM.
    2. Excel, creating tracking lists, and documents, checklists etc., as well as operating the existing extensive Excel database of project controls.
    3. Word, creating narratives and write ups on conditions, marking up and modifying existing documents.
    4. Adobe/Blue Beam marking up drawings with field notes, or as built conditions, grabbing sections or screen shots to add to RFI’s etc.
    5. Using contractor controls software, web based, such as Egnyte, ProCore etc. Access to drawings, specs, scope, contractual items and RFI’s, ASI’s etc.
  • Supporting RFI processes, gathering field data and intel to cross reference to spec and scope to allow creation of detailed exceptions from plans and specs
  • Deep coordination/partnership with Project Manager, Post Sales Dedicated Engineer, Costing Team and Sales team and program manager.
