Division of Medicaid Services (DMS) , Milwaukee Enrollment Services (MilES) is recruiting for an Associate Bureau Director in Milwaukee, WI. NOTE: This is a hybrid position that offers the option to work remotely up to two (2) days per week. This position is required to work onsite at the 6055 N. 64 th St., Milwaukee office three (3) days per week. This schedule may vary based on training and operational need.

Position Summary
As the Associate Bureau Director, you will provide executive leadership to a large, dynamic organization. MilES employs 450 staff and provides FoodShare and Badger Care Plus/Medicaid and childcare eligibility services for Milwaukee County residents. Over 60,000 phone calls, 20,000 walk-ins, and approximately 3,000 online applications are handled monthly across two walk-in locations. Extensive strategic planning skills and executive leadership expertise is required for this position.
This position is also responsible for directing, coordinating, planning, monitoring and evaluating the operational activities of all MilES staff including the functions required to meet all quality, operational and programmatic priorities, goals and objectives. These functions are required to ensure compliance with all federal and state healthcare and FoodShare policies. In this role you will also be providing expertise and coordination of policy development and implementation, project management, and other services required for the effective and efficient management of the Bureau. The MilES Associate Director is responsible for fostering positive community relationships within the greater Milwaukee area and working with community partners.
Salary Information
The starting salary is between $120,100 and $127,000 annually (between $57.77 and $61.08 hourly) depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 24-month career executive trial period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Health Services Manager and is in pay schedule and range 81/01.
Job Details

For positions that allow remote working flexibility, working outside of Wisconsin or in bordering cities will not be allowed except in extremely limited circumstances due to the need to report to an office location in Wisconsin on short notice.
Employees must have access to secure high-speed internet for remote work option. Mileage reimbursement to the employee's headquarter location is not provided.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants must have all of the following:
- Experience managing supervisors, conducting activities such as providing direction, leadership, staff development, feedback, mentoring/coaching, and conflict resolution.
- Experience managing the day-to-day operations of a call center or caseload management environment as a supervisor or manager. Tasks may include monitoring and distributing workload, ensuring quality standards and deadlines are met, etc.
- Experience implementing strategic planning initiatives, including tasks such as developing quality improvement strategies and ensuring alignment of work plan to work product.
Well-qualified applicants will have one or more of the following:
- Experience with policy development and analysis, including tasks such as planning, administering, or evaluating operational polices for program implementation.
- Experience with providing input on organizational budgets, allocating organizational resources, or implementing data driven decision making.
- Experience managing a call center of at least 50 staff.
