Job Description
We are seeking Mechanical Engineers to join our Equipment Consulting team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set and whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional Engineers. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of Mechanical Engineering but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks.
Job Responsibilities
  • Inspect and evaluate damages to different types of mechanical and electronic systems, such as machinery, refrigeration systems, furnaces, conveyance systems, elevators, UPS, boilers, medical equipment, laboratory equipment, injection molding machinery, industrial plants, and a variety of other mechanical / industrial equipment.
  • Conduct configuration audits.
  • Analyze requirements and specifications to determine comparable equipment replacements.
  • Provide research to determine costs associated with equipment replacement (i.e., new and used).
  • Expected to produce 3+ page written reports regularly.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with over 5 years of experience in engineering design, analysis, or applications
  • Must reside in Chicago, Illinois
  • Must be willing and able to travel 30-50% of the time, sometimes at short notice but not for extended periods of time.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • A desire to learn, excel and grow with us and within the profession

Physical and Mental Job Qualifications
  • Must be able to sit for long period of time
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites as needed.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Positive, friendly attitude to everyone.
  • Must be comfortable to work in a remote and/or hybrid environment
  • Must be flexible to work outside of the 8:30am - 5:30pm business hours if needed
  • Must be flexible to travel and able to accommodate approximately 30-50% travel

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $125,000 - $150,000. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
