Job description

Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The HRIS Associate serves as a key member of the HRIS team, providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 system support for Workday HCM and related HR technology platforms. This role is the first point of contact for employee and manager inquiries related to Workday transactions, data integrity, and system navigation, escalating complex configuration or compliance issues to senior analysts as appropriate. The ideal candidate brings foundational HRIS knowledge, strong attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset to help maintain the integrity and usability of the company's HR systems across a global employee population of approximately 6,000. We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, asks why before accepting how things have always been done, and consistently looks for ways to improve both the processes they own and the experience of the people they support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tier 1 & Tier 2 System Support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Workday support tickets, triaging and resolving Tier 1 inquiries related to navigation, self-service transactions, data updates, and access questions.
  • Escalate complex or configuration-level issues to senior HRIS Analysts with clear documentation of the issue, steps taken, and recommended resolution path.
  • Maintain and update a Workday support knowledge base, FAQs, and job aids to enable self-service and reduce ticket volume over time.
  • Support employees and managers with Workday business process completion, including onboarding, job changes, separations, and performance tasks.

Data Integrity & Transactions
  • Process routine HRIS transactions accurately and in accordance with established procedures, including position management, worker data changes, and organizational assignments.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR data to identify and resolve data quality issues, duplicate records, and missing fields.
  • Partner with Payroll and Benefits teams to ensure accurate and timely data entry that supports downstream processing.
  • Assist with mass data loads and system uploads under the guidance of senior analysts.

Reporting & Analytics
  • Run standard reports to fulfill recurring and ad hoc HR data requests from HR Business Partners, Payroll, and leadership.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of basic custom reports under the guidance of the Reporting Analyst.
  • Ensure report outputs meet data privacy standards and are distributed only to authorized stakeholders.

Testing & System Maintenance
  • Participate in system release testing by executing assigned test scripts and documenting results.
  • Support regression testing for configuration changes, integrations, and module updates.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) for new HR technology implementations or enhancements.

Continuous Improvement & User Experience
  • Proactively identify friction points in HRIS processes, support workflows, and employee-facing transactions, and bring forward ideas to improve clarity, efficiency, or the end-user experience.
  • Stay current on Workday feature releases and emerging HRIS best practices, regularly sharing relevant updates and opportunities with the team.
  • Document HRIS business processes and maintain up-to-date procedure guides, approaching documentation as a tool for continuous improvement rather than a compliance exercise.
  • Participate in HRIS team projects, contributing ideas and completing assigned tasks with a mindset of making things better - not just done.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail with a track record of accurate, high-quality data entry and transaction processing.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and initiative - a history of asking questions, challenging the status quo, and proposing improvements rather than waiting to be asked.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate proactively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).

Preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in an HRIS, HR Operations, or HR Shared Services environment.
  • Experience with Workday HCM; familiarity navigating Workday as an end user or in a support capacity is a plus but not required - we will invest in training the right candidate.
  • Experience with HRIS data loads, custom reporting, or basic system configuration tasks.
  • Exposure to a global, multi-entity HR environment with experience supporting international employee populations.
  • Familiarity with HR compliance concepts (OFCCP, GDPR, ACA) as they relate to HRIS data management.
  • Experience with HR ticketing or case management systems.

COMPETENCIES
  • Service Excellence - Responsive, solutions-focused, and committed to a positive employee experience.
  • Curiosity & Continuous Improvement - Consistently asks why, seeks to understand root causes, and proactively surfaces ideas to improve processes and user experience.
  • Accuracy & Attention to Detail - Maintains high data quality standards with minimal errors.
  • Learning Agility - Quickly adopts new system features and proactively builds Workday knowledge.
  • Collaboration - Works effectively across HR, Payroll, and IT to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Accountability - Owns tickets and tasks through resolution and communicates status without being prompted.
