What does a remote informatics nurse do?
As a remote informatics nurse, you work from home or outside of a clinical setting to collect data, analyze trends, and create more efficient systems for the medical industry, specifically for patient care. Your responsibilities require a lot of time spent on computer systems and administrative duties rather than direct interaction with a patient. Electronic medical records (EMRs) take up a large portion of your duties as you streamline the system and create user-friendly options. You introduce new technology, train others remotely, and provide feedback to the IT department to help improve the software.
