Job description

Overview 


Client First Technologies is currently seeking an Emerging Technology Specialist in support of our government customer's enterprise software licensing and vendor management program. The Emerging Technology Specialist evaluates emerging software products and licensing models, conducts market research, and advises program stakeholders on innovative licensing strategies and technology investments that support enterprise objectives.  Additionally, the Specialist will lead team efforts to create and manage the contract's technical infrastructure to include developing reporting and dashboarding applications. 


This is a full-time, remote position, with occasional requirements to be readily available and physically present at the customer facility in Rockville, MD.

This position is contingent upon contract award. 


Requirements

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and software licensing models relevant to the enterprise software portfolio 
  • Conduct market research and provide recommendations for new technology adoption 
  • Advise program stakeholders on innovative licensing strategies and solutions 
  • Support strategic planning activities related to enterprise technology investments 
  • Conduct training or working sessions with program customers to advise them on existing and new products and technologies 
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of emerging software products and advise customers on their features, benefits, and licensing considerations 
  • Support development of recommendations comparing emerging licensing models against current enterprise agreement structures 
  • Coordinate with acquisition and licensing team members to ensure emerging technology recommendations are reflected in planning and renewal activities 
  • Work with project team and customer stakeholders to design, develop and maintain reporting and dashboarding solutions, including data collection, storage and analysis 


Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience evaluating enterprise software products, technologies, or licensing models 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software licensing structures, including subscription, enterprise agreement, and cloud-based licensing models 
  • Strong research, analytical, and technical writing skills 
  • Hands-on experience designing and building dashboards and reports in Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and connecting to multiple data sources 
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) for low-code/no-code solution development, including experience with data collection and storage design (e.g., SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL) 
  • Experience presenting technical findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders 
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT environments and software asset management practices preferred 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required background investigation appropriate to the position 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with projects and licensing structures including Microsoft, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Linux, Java, VMWare and Omnissa, strongly preferred 


Physical Demands 

  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time 
  • Occasional travel and overtime may be required 


Required Clearances and Screenings 

  • This position is subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility for a position designated with Low Risk sensitivity. Candidates with a current Tier 1/Low Risk Background Investigation or equivalent are preferred.
