Base pay range $75.00/hr - $90.00/hr Job Title: Network Engineer Job Type: Contract (W2) Start Date: ASAP Duration: 6 Months (with potential for extension) Location: Remote (United States only) Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week Compensation: $75 to $90 per hour Position Summary: Our Big 4 consulting client is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join their dynamic infrastructure team.

This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, deployment, and support of advanced networking solutions that ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability across our client's enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate senior-level expertise in core networking technologies, network security, and automation, with the ability to support a modern, distributed network architecture. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across multiple sites, ensuring high availability and scalability.

Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for complex network issues, including routing, switching, segmentation, and access control. Lead or contribute to the deployment and management of technologies including SD-WAN, SASE, Cisco ISE, and network automation platforms. Develop and maintain automation scripts and orchestration tools (e.g., Python, Ansible) to optimize network management and operational efficiency.

Support secure network access and segmentation strategies using Cisco ISE and related tools. Monitor network health and performance using advanced tools; conduct packet-level analysis to proactively identify and resolve issues. Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure teams to align network strategy with organizational goals and security requirements.

Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps; contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED is required; college degree is preferred. Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) OR equivalent experience in Routing and Switching strongly preferred.

5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering roles. Demonstrated senior-level experience in at least three of the following areas: 1) Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN). 2) Secure Access Service Edge (SASE).

3) Network automation and orchestration (Python, Ansible, etc.). 4) Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), network segmentation and access control. Advanced knowledge of multi-site network topologies and protocols.

Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, cloud infrastructure, and compute/storage integration with network architecture. Experience with tools such as InfoBlox, NetBrain, SolarWinds, and Cisco DNA Center (DNA-C) is a plus. Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams. Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required (approximately 5%)—may include occasional visits to one (or some) of our client's offices.
