Job description

Introduction
The Department of Corrections (DOC) is focused on public safety through the custody and supervision of those in our care. Corrections employees have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of others through careers in a variety of fields. Using evidence-based approaches, employees implement lasting change with a positive impact for the people of Wisconsin.
The Division of Adult Institutions is currently recruiting to fill a Treatment Specialist 2 position. This position will be headquartered at Redgranite Correctional Institution (RGCI) in Redgranite, WI.
Position Summary
This position formulates and implements individual and group assessments, case plans, and treatment in the areas of Evidence Based Practices (EBP) for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and the Earned Release Program as well as administrative and documentation tasks for the RGCI population. This position has oversight responsibilities for SUD groups at RGCI to ensure program performance objectives are met, monitor performance measures, and audit instruments.
This position will also design and develop a continuum of program delivery to serve the target population using the DOC assigned criteria and tools to measure adequate, effective, and efficient program delivery. This position will coordinate with multiple disciplines in the institution to develop, implement, and monitor institution-wide after-care interventions to program completers and will consult with institution management on the progress and outcomes of after-care intervention program.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 12-63 with a starting pay of $34.46/hour - $38.08/hour. The rate within this range relates to years of state seniority. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period is required.
This position may receive a $1.50 to $2.00 per hour add-on pay based on the type of SAC credential possessed at the time of hire.

Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
This position is not eligible for remote work and will work on site. Anticipated schedule will be Monday - Friday 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM.
Qualifications
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must possess a current AODA treatment certification from the state of Wisconsin in the form of a Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC), Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) certification or Authorized to Treat for Substance Use Disorder specialty certification and will be required to maintain certification during employment.
In addition to the Specialist Requirements above, applicants must meet the below.
Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:
• Designing and developing a structured framework to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.
• Coordinating with multiple disciplines to develop, implement, and monitor the after-care interventions to programs.
• Conducting Substance Use Disorder (SUD) assessments and programming.
• Developing policies and procedures, program components, and/or specific activities to achieve program goals and objectives.
In addition to the above minimally qualified, well qualified applicants will have experience:
• Utilizing techniques for facilitating group and individual counseling.
• Utilizing treatment techniques related to Substance Use Disorders.
• Utilizing research and evidence-based Substance Use Disorder treatments.
