Remote Independent Medical Reviewer  Psychiatry specializing in Transgender Health (1099 Contractor)

Location: Remote

Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

Maximus is seeking experienced Psychiatry professionals specializing in Transgender Health to serve as Independent Medical Reviewers for the California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) Independent Medical Review Program.

Responsibilities

  • Review medical records and treatment requests.
  • Provide independent, unbiased medical necessity determinations.
  • Complete reviews remotely on your own schedule.
  • Evaluate Medical Necessity, Experimental/Investigational, and Emergency cases.

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted professional license in any state
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry.
  • Specialize in Transgender Health
  • Minimum 24 hours of direct patient care per week.
  • Current clinical experience treating patients in your specialty.
  • MD/DO: 5+ years of post-training specialty experience.

Compensation

  • $250$400 per review
  • Additional compensation may be available for complex cases requiring supplemental review.
