Job description

Who We Are

Thrive Homes is a Leawood, Kansas-based technology-enabled general contracting company that specializes in clinically-guided, accessible home modifications for Medicaid recipients. Our mission is reflected in our name -- we provide services that allow our clients to Thrive! By integrating technology with a nationwide network of contractors, we deliver customized home modifications that enhance quality of life and promote independent living. We partner with Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and Medicaid LTSS programs to provide seamless, high-quality modifications that improve safety and accessibility for individuals in need. We are dedicated to transforming the construction and home modification industry by providing fast responses, accurate quotes, high-quality work, and honest pricing.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Construction Sales Consultant to serve as the critical first point of contact for our Colorado clients. In this role, you will conduct initial client meetings, build rapport and trust with Medicaid recipients and their families, and complete thorough technology-powered construction assessment forms that enable our construction project managers to develop accurate scopes of work. This position combines relationship-building skills with practical construction knowledge to ensure clients feel confident choosing Thrive Homes as their home modification provider.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-home initial consultations with Medicaid recipients who have been approved for home modifications
  • Build strong rapport and trust with clients and their families, representing Thrive Homes' mission and values with professionalism and empathy
  • Complete comprehensive technology-powered construction assessment forms, documenting all necessary information about the client's home, modification needs, and site conditions
  • Identify and communicate potential construction challenges or considerations that may impact project scope
  • Answer basic client questions about the modification process and timeline while setting appropriate expectations
  • Collaborate with internal project managers to ensure assessment information is accurate and complete for scoping purposes
  • Maintain flexibility to schedule consultations based on client availability
  • Document and submit completed assessments in a timely manner through Thrive Homes' systems

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in residential construction, remodeling, or home improvement (carpentry, project coordination, or similar roles preferred)
  • Proven ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with disabilities
  • Working knowledge of basic construction principles, including framing, accessibility modifications, and common residential building practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document site conditions and client needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-service mindset
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the Colorado service area
  • Comfortable using technology platforms for documentation and communication
  • Passion for helping underserved populations and improving quality of life through home modifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with accessibility modifications, aging-in-place remodeling, or ADA compliance
  • Previous sales or client-facing experience in the construction or home improvement industry
  • Familiarity with Medicaid programs or social services

Working Conditions

  • This is a 1099 independent contractor position with flexible scheduling
  • Work is conducted primarily in clients' homes throughout Colorado
  • Compensation is per assessment completed
  • Collaboration with internal teams via virtual platforms and project management systems

What We Offer

  • Competitive per-assessment compensation
  • Flexible, independent work structure that allows you to manage your own schedule
  • The opportunity to make a real impact by improving accessibility and independent living for underserved populations
  • A mission-driven culture focused on high-quality service and innovation in home modification solutions
  • Ongoing support from experienced project managers and operations team

Other Requirements

This position may be required to perform physical tasks, such as standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds during home assessments.
