Job DetailsJob Location: Allied Benefit Systems - CHICAGO, IL 60606Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $20.00 - $21.00 HourlyJob Category: Accounting & FinancePOSITION SUMMARY The Billing Specialist I will assist in file imports using multiple systems, state reporting calculation and filing, multiple types of client invoicing, client setups/changes, client audits and creating/maintaining reports. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS \tProcess and submit accurate and timely invoices to clients \tFollow up on outstanding payments and resolve any billing discrepancies \tCommunicate with clients regarding billing inquiries and payment status \tMaintain accurate records of all billing and collection activities \tAssist with month end closing and reporting \tCollaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely billing \tSet up new accounts for our new book of business \tChange accounts for existing book of business \tAudit accounts to ensure setup/changes were allocated correctly \tCreate/Maintain Excel spreadsheets to track services/activity for several clients \tMaintain Access Databases to track services/activity for several clients \tOther related duties as assigned EDUCATION \tHigh school diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS \t2+ years of experience in billing and collections \tExcellent communication and problem solving skills \tProficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software \tAbility to work independently and as part of a team \tStrong attention to detail and accuracy   POSITION COMPETENCIES \tAccountability \tCommunication \tCustomer Service Orientation \tFunctional/Technical Skills \tQuality Focus \tTime and Task Management   PHYSICAL DEMANDS \tThis is a standard desk role requiring extended sitting and computer work.   WORK ENVIRONMENT \tRemote   Here at Allied, we believe that great talent can thrive from anywhere.
