Job description

Your role
As a Field Service Technician for Atlas Copco Compressor Technique based in Columbia, SC you will serve as an OEM technical expert delivering preventive and predictive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, repair and customer consultation. You will report to the Service Manager.
  • Safety First: Promote and follow all safety procedures and proper PPE practices
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair on compressed air systems, including VSD drives, controls, electrical systems and refrigeration.
  • Provide professional technical consultation to customers regarding system performance, reliability and optimization
  • Execute OEM-level inspections, preventative maintenance and overhaul procedures on compressors, dryers and related equipment
  • Accurately document service findings, recommendations, warranty forms, start-up documentation and parts returns.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through clear professional communications, expert guidance and consultative support
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and travel within assigned territory including occasional overnight travel typically ≤ 20 nights/year
  • You will attend training at our Air Academy and train with Senior Service Technicians
  • You will be subject to random drug testing.
To succeed, you will need
  • You have minimum of 2-5 years multi-craft experience in HVAC, electrical diagnostics, industrial maintenance or OEM field service.
  • Proficiency with multimeters, megohmmeters, control circuitry and interpreting electrical schematics
  • Ability to independently manage workload, meet deadlines and deliver high-level customer support
  • Experience with navigating through computer systems and the ability to complete work orders, order parts and training.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, technical certifications (EPA, HVAC, Electrical) preferred
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in industrial environments with varying temperatures.
  • You have a valid driver's license and are fluent in English.
  • This position requires that you reside within reasonable commute (within 30 minutes to one hour) of the assigned territory. Proof of residency will be required.
  • The position requires that you must be able to park a company issued, branded service vehicle at your place of residence without any restrictions.
