Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough clinical assessments to identify the mental health needs of students and developing individualized treatment plans based on best practices.
• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused brief therapy tailored to each student’s unique circumstances.
• Documenting all clinical interactions accurately and in a timely manner to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Participating in regular case consultations and peer review meetings to collaboratively enhance treatment quality and outcomes.
• Providing psychoeducation to students and their families to empower them with knowledge that supports mental health management.
• Staying abreast of the latest research and practices in mental health counseling to continuously improve patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary clientele will consist of students from varied backgrounds, each facing unique challenges including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and trauma. Your role will be crucial in providing these individuals with the coping mechanisms and support they need to succeed academically and socially. By fostering a safe, trusting environment, you will help students express their thoughts and feelings openly while guiding them towards healthier mental health practices.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid LCSW license in Arizona.
• A minimum of three years of clinical experience with a strong emphasis on psychotherapy and counseling.
• Expertise in solution-focused therapy and other evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on building rapport with students and their families.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Experience

While the above qualifications are essential, additional experience working within educational settings or with school-aged populations is highly desirable. Knowledge of school-based mental health services and familiarity with IEP processes can greatly enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
