Location: Supporting: Gulf Coast Medical Center (GCMC) , 13681 Doctor's Way, Fort Myers FL 33912
Department: Hospital At Home
Work Type: Full Time (72 hours bi-weekly)
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (weekend and holiday rotations)
Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $31.78 - $42.90 / hour (plus differential, as applicable)
This position works at the Lee Health Command Center (Orion Building) next to the GCMC Campus.
Virtual RN role, hands-off patient care
Strong RN experience in Acute Care
Summary
Responsible for the safe delivery and documentation of patient care provided virtually through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Performs responsibilities in the five areas of nursing practice: clinician, teacher, researcher, leadership and professional development utilizing critical thinking, management, problem solving, and differentiation of urgency.
Responsible for virtually supporting and coordinating nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards subscribed to by the American Nursing Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act and other regulatory standards.
The nurse's practice is guided by the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretative Statements, with the nurse integrating knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of holistic patient care.
The VirtualRN contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through excellence, customer service, performance improvement, and mentoring to deliver positive patient outcomes and experiences.
Collaborates within the interdisciplinary team to deliver effective and efficient patient care and supports the organization's mission, vision and values.
Requirements
Education Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required. Associates or Bachelors' preferred.
Experience Requirements: Minimum of 3 years acute care clinical experience in a progressive care or intensive care unit. Recent clinical experience within the last two years upon application preferred.
Certification Requirements: Proof of American Heart Association Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date.
License Requirements: Currently licensed or eligible for RN licensure in the State of Florida.
Other Requirements: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to flex and adapt to evolving environment and role. Computer, telephone, and customer service skills required.
