Job Summary
As a category manager at Froneri you will be the critical link between a company's internal strategy and the retailer's execution:
  • Build trust and deepen partnership with our key retailers by providing best-in-class consumer insights, data analysis, and strategic positioning that come together to inform internal and external strategies to deliver growth and profitability
  • Help drive customer category growth through brand agnostic focus on the category/segments and shopper dynamics - in other words, be consumer and category obsessed!

Customer Category Strategy & Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure consumer insights, data analysis, and strategic positioning come together to deliver unbiased category insights and solutions that will grow the Ice Cream category
  • Identify category trends, opportunities and threats, leading monthly/quarterly calls with customers to call out key performance indicators and future optimizations
  • Drive 4 P strategies for our retailers, collaborating with cross-functional groups as sales and marketing and tailoring recommendations to specific customer needs
  • Lead category strategy and approach in JBP, Top to Top, Category Review, and yearly planning meetings at respective accounts/channels

Requirements and Minimum Education Level
  • BS/BA Preferred

Experience
  • 5+ Years experience in customer facing, sales planning, or category management sales roles in CPG industry
  • Seeking category experience working within a large scale retail environment
  • Commercial experience, high developed collaboration and influencing skills, self-starter, results driven, entrepreneurial
  • Experience in retail sales roles a plus
  • Knowledge of customer best practices, market intelligence, category/channel/ shopper trends and shopper Insight into actionable ideas.
  • History in data management (IRI, Nielsen, other data sources) and insight building. Proven ability to develop sound insights and strategies across multiple data points.

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is between $90,000 and $140,000 per year.
