Job Overview

As a member of the Applications team, the Applications Project Manager plays a critical role in supporting growth initiatives and advancing technical excellence across multiple industries. This position is responsible for conducting site technical audits, troubleshooting complex utility-related issues, and contributing to the development and dissemination of technical knowledge and training programs.

The role also leads multiple internal projects focused on new technology development and market expansion, serving as a key liaison between field applications and R&D by evaluating and filtering new product ideas. Success in this role is measured by contributions to sales growth, profitability, and the sustainability of existing business operations.

This position is remote within the United States, with a preference for candidates located near a major airport. Travel is approximately 50%.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Deep expertise in chemical treatment programs for industrial boiler systems (both high- and low-pressure)
  • Experience with pretreatment and membrane technologies
  • Strong knowledge of utilities within hydrocarbon and chemical processing industries (preferred)
  • Experience in power generation, pulp and paper, water treatment, or general industrial applications (plus)
  • Cooling water treatment or cooling technologies experience (strong plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot boiler and cooling system issues in challenging or upset conditions
  • Strong safety mindset with a proven safety record
  • Background in direct sales and understanding of business fundamentals
  • Marketing knowledge is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and visual)
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • High level of personal accountability, work ethic, and initiative
What You'll Do
  • Conduct technical site audits across multiple industries to assess system performance and opportunities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex utility system issues, including boilers and cooling systems
  • Develop and deliver technical training and support materials for internal and external audiences
  • Lead and manage multiple internal projects from initiation through completion
  • Oversee project planning, resource allocation, staffing, and vendor/subcontractor coordination
  • Monitor project performance, timelines, costs, and quality, making adjustments as needed
  • Ensure project outcomes meet defined technical, reliability, schedule, and financial requirements
  • Support geographic expansion initiatives through technical expertise and customer engagement
  • Act as a primary evaluator of new product concepts and collaborate with R&D on development priorities
  • Contribute to business growth by supporting sales efforts and maintaining strong customer relationships

The expected compensation range for this position is between $123,690.00 and $181,412.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
