The Opportunity:
Nwestco LLC is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our HR
team. This is a full-time, exempt remote position reporting directly to the Director of
People and Culture. Preference will be given to candidates residing in the Pacific Time
Zone due to support responsibilities for employees and leaders in California,
Washington, Oregon, and Nevada.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who is highly organized, self-sufficient,
detail-oriented, and thrives in a high-accountability environment. The successful
candidate must be a quick learner with exceptional follow-up and follow-through skills
and the ability to work productively and independently in a remote setting.

The pay range is $75,000- $110,000, depending on experience.

Your Role & Responsibilities:
As the Human Resources Generalist, you will partner closely with the Director of People
and Culture and leaders across the organization to support day-to-day HR operations in
a multi-state environment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding,terminations, and exit interviews, ensuring a consistent and positive employee experience.
  • Coordinate and administer workers’ compensation claims from initial report through resolution, partnering with managers, medical providers, insurance carriers, and adjusters.
  • Partner with the Company’s Leave Management vendor to support administrationof FMLA, CFRA, FAMLI, WA PDL, ADA accommodations, Workers’ Compensation leaves, and other company leave programs.
  • Partner closely with the Director of People and Culture on employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and performance management.
  • Provide responsive day-to-day HR support and guidance to employees and managers regarding company policies, procedures, compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Help ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and employment practices across a multi-state workforce.
  • Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies, procedures and forms.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for HR functions.
  • Develop, maintain and update job descriptions to align with organizational structure, operational needs, and compliance requirements.
  • Support organizational initiatives focused on employee engagement, morale, culture, communication, and leadership development.
  • Assist with HR audits, reporting, compliance initiatives, and responses to agency inquiries, including OSHA, EDD, unemployment, and benefits-related matters.
  • Remain current on federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices, particularly within multi-state environments.
  • Utilize HR systems, reporting tools, and AI technology to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Assist with special HR projects and operational initiatives in a fast-paced, growing organization.

What You Bring to the Table:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma (required); Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources generalist experience required
  • Experience supporting employees in a multi-state environment required.
  • Strong working knowledge of California & Washington labor laws, leave laws, and compliance required
  • Proven experience managing ADA accommodations, CFRA/FMLA leaves, and workers’ comp
  • Skilled in employee relations, conflict resolution, and documentation
  • Experience supporting employee relations investigations and performance management activities preferred
  • Experience managing onboarding processes and partnering with recruiter and hiring managers preferred
  • Ability to travel periodically

Technical & Soft Skills:

  • Proficiency using Google Suite preferred.
  • Proficiency with an ATS and an HRIS platform
  • Outstanding follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High level of accountability and attention to detail
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities independently in a fast-paced environment
