What is this career opportunity?
We are seeking an innovative Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our Enterprise (Central) HR Team within the State Human Resources Division. This position supports the State of Montana's human resources centralization initiative. This position supports and guides agency human resources staff by leading development and deployment of forward-looking, strategic, enterprise-wide solutions associated with talent management, performance and development, classification and compensation, recruitment and selection, and labor relations and collective bargaining support. This position builds and maintains effective working partnerships with the state human resources community; provides guidance on state and federal policies and regulations; leads policy changes and program initiatives based on emerging trends and changes in law; leads responses to formal claims and recommends strategies for reducing claims; and works closely with human resources information systems staff to develop and support system initiatives.
What are we looking for?
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, or another related field.
- Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in a human resources role, including a least two years of experience in a senior human resources role.
- Experience developing and administering both tactical and strategic HR programs within a larger organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles, procedures, and best practices for talent recruitment and selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor law, and HR information systems.
Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by case basis.
