Area Sales Manager,
Engage Hospitality has an immediate opening for an Area Sales Manager. Engage Hospitality is an innovative hotel management company based in Alameda focused on achieving rewarding results and operational success for hotel owners. By encouraging guest loyalty, promoting creative and forward thinking strategies, and providing a progressive workplace for employees, Engage Hospitality has grown to become one of Northern California’s leading hotel operators. Engage Hospitality currently has 20 hotels in its portfolio serving a diverse range of owners including private owners, REITs, real estate investors and private equity funds.
Major Responsibilities of the Area Sales Manager include:
- The Area Sales Manager requires an experienced sales person with an entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivated, a self-starter, and a multi-tasker.
-The Area Sales Manager is responsible for the direct sales efforts for our select service, upscale and boutique hotels managed by Engage Hospitality.
-Interact with on-site managers, reservations, operations, and accounting personnel to ensure overall budgeted results are achieved.
- Solicitation of accounts in their specified markets to add new business for each of the properties involved, as well as maintenance of existing accounts in respective markets
- Preparation and follow through of specific projects assigned by President/CEO of Engage Hospitality.
- Timely input of information relative to all accounts into database system with proper follow up and tracing responsibilities
- Maintain detailed, up to date, and organized file system with complete information of key contact, production report, and opportunity aspects of each account.
- Responsible for making telemarketing calls, outside sales calls to qualified accounts and conducting site inspections as necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining memberships in organizations as assigned by President/CEO as well as on going participation in such organizations (BABTA, SF Chamber, etc.)
- Attend and participate in trade shows, events at hotels as requested by President/CEO of Engage Hospitality.
- Attend and participate in weekly sales and revenue meetings.
- Establish new and further develop existing corporate, leisure, entertainment, consortia and retail agency accounts in specified territory.
Education, Experience, Training or Skills required: - BS or BA degree preferred - Minimum 2 years experience in a hotel sales capacity - Proficient in MS Word and Outlook - Ability to deliver a high level of customer service, build relationships and close profitable sales leads.
  • Some weekend and evening work may apply as business needs dictate.
  • Local Travel is required.
  • Position is partially home based and rotating hotel based.
  • Professional attire required at all times.
  • Must be able to lift 20 to 25 lbs.
Must be able to stand for periods of 4 hours or more continuously.
