Remote Horseback Riding Instructor information

What is a remote horseback riding instructor?

A Remote Horseback Riding Instructor is a professional who teaches horseback riding skills and techniques through virtual platforms, rather than in person. They use video calls, online tutorials, and digital feedback to guide students on riding form, safety, horse care, and training exercises. This approach enables riders to receive expert instruction from anywhere, often supplementing in-person lessons or assisting those who cannot access a local instructor. Remote instructors may also provide personalized lesson plans and troubleshoot issues based on videos submitted by students.

How does a remote horseback riding instructor effectively teach riding skills without being physically present with students?

As a Remote Horseback Riding Instructor, you utilize video conferencing tools, pre-recorded demonstrations, and real-time feedback to guide students through riding exercises. You often collaborate closely with on-site assistants or parents, providing them with clear instructions to ensure student safety and skill progression. A typical session involves reviewing student videos, offering personalized corrections, and assigning targeted exercises for practice. Building strong communication skills and adapting teaching methods for virtual delivery are common challenges, but these also help you reach a wider range of students and develop innovative instructional techniques.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote horseback riding instructor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Horseback Riding Instructor, you need substantial equestrian expertise, instructional experience, and often certifications such as CHA or BHS accreditation. Familiarity with virtual teaching platforms, video conferencing tools, and digital lesson planning systems is typically required. Strong communication, patience, and adaptability are vital soft skills for effectively guiding students remotely and addressing their unique challenges. These skills and qualifications ensure safety, clear instruction, and student engagement despite the lack of physical presence.

About Clerkie

Clerkie is a fintech startup on a mission to democratize financial wellness using the power of artificial intelligence. Launched in 2018, Clerkie began with an app, aiming to help the nearly 123 million underserved Americans in need of financial guidance. Since its inception, the company has expanded its services and now pairs consumer guidance with cutting-edge B2B software. By pairing the two through the Clerkie network, these tools have become the go-to resource for creditors looking to manage loan losses while simultaneously helping millions of borrowers get out of debt.

Clerkie is a remote-first company, with over 40 employees spanning 4 time zones across the United States. To date, the company has raised $41 million, including a $33 million Series A round in early 2023. Investors include leading financial and venture institutions, including Citi Ventures, Left Lane Capital, Wellington Ventures, Flourish Ventures, and Vestigo Ventures.

About the role

We're looking for a driven, curious, and collaborative Associate Product Manager to join our small-but-mighty Product team. This role is ideal for someone in the early stages of their product career - whether this is your first formal PM role or your second - who's ready to take on real ownership, build strong fundamentals, and grow alongside experienced product leaders.

You'll work closely with our Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and directly with our CEO and co-founder, supporting both our consumer-facing experiences and our B2B platform. This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute meaningfully across discovery, delivery, and iteration - while learning how product decisions get made in a fast-paced Series A environment.

Our goal is for this role to be a true launchpad: building the skills, judgment, and confidence needed for long-term growth in product at Clerkie or beyond.

Here's what you'll do
  • Partner with PMs, designers, and engineers to explore problems and shape solutions
  • Work directly on high-priority initiatives across our SaaS products
  • Support discovery, documentation, and delivery for key product work streams
  • Join (and contribute to!) team rituals like sprint planning, retros, and roadmap reviews
  • Help scope and ship features from research through release
  • Keep the team organized with clear requirements, thoughtful tracking, and great communication
  • Bring fresh eyes, user empathy, and curiosity to everything you touch
Here's a snapshot of what the Product team tackled recently
  • Partnered with Design and Engineering to create some super slick sandbox demos that helped us win big deals
  • Contributed to high-priority builds for enterprise partners, pressure-testing our infrastructure to support scale
  • Collaborated directly with our SLT to scope and prioritize key updates across multiple product experiences
  • Added our voice to the evolving product strategy and roadmap, helping shape how Clerkie and Fiber deliver value across every touchpoint
  • Helped clean up and organize Coda, our internal knowledge hub, to make life easier for future new hires (like you!)
  • Onboarded a new teammate to the Product team and updated internal rituals to set them up for success
  • Spent the day on a private ranch in Jackson Hole horseback riding, axe throwing, eating outside a Michelin Star chef's table, roasting smores under the stars, and celebrating your latest hackathon win
  • And more! From big wins to team traditions, it's been a month - and we're just getting started ????
Must-haves
  • Early experience working in a product-focused role
  • Ability to clearly communicate across various technical teams, clients, and stakeholders
  • Top-notch communication and organization skills
  • Ability to think in systems, break down complex ideas, and prioritize clearly
  • Curiosity, humility, and a desire to learn from others
  • Motivation to own your work and grow fast
  • A collaborative spirit and appreciation for feedback
  • Comfort working independently in a remote environment
Nice-to-haves (not required)
  • Prior experience in a startup (Seed stage to pre-IPO), fintech, or adjacent company
  • Familiarity with Agile, Jira, Coda, or Figma
  • Background in CS, business, design, analytics, or another relevant field
  • A basic understanding of how software gets built
  • Passion for financial wellness, tech-for-good, or startup life
Our salary and benefits
  • ???? Salary range: $90-110k
  • ???? Equity
  • ???? Remote-first role (US only)
  • ???? Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • ???? 401(k) + retirement benefits
  • ???? Paid time off + annual company retreat
  • ???? Company laptop + home office stipend
  • ???? Collaborative, values-driven culture
Our hiring process

We believe in a two-way interview process that helps us get to know you—and helps you get to know us.

  1. Application (async)
  2. Intro Call w/ People Team (20–30 min)
  3. Take-Home Challenge (async over 1 week)
  4. Take-Home live Presentation (1 hour live review with Product Team)
  5. Technical Deep Dive w/ Product Leader (90 min)

Before we extend any offers, all candidates must successfully complete a standard background check in addition to a reference check. These checks are conducted in tandem to ensure a safe, secure, and compliant environment for all Clerkie team members and stakeholders. We approach this stage with transparency and sensitivity, and candidates will be provided with clear information about the process.

Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
